1) Load a bios
a) BIOS File
in the text field that says bios file type the path to a bios, or use the open button immediately to the right, then click load.
b) BIOS Directory
bios directory is a specially formatted directory with a descriptor file that can be used to manipulate the files that make up the bios, this was my original reason for creating this program, to be able to open edit and rebuild the bios files themselves.
2) Store a bios
you can save to both a directory and a file in one fell swoop
a) BIOS File
select a filename to save, click store
b) BIOS Directory
select a directory to save to, click store
3) Make changes
after loading something, decide what you want to to add or remove (there is not a change function implemented as of yet)
a) add
the bottom row contains an empty line, select the file to add and what tag the bios should see it as. I do not have a list of what the values mean, but they are basically either a memory location (above 0x8000) or a type identifier, of PCI option rom, ISA option rom, system bios, video bios, and very definitely others. then click the little + button to the right
b) remove
select a line and click the little - button to the right
In the BIOSDEF.txt that is created when you save a BIOSDIR, the types are as follows:
'At Present we only know of 5 types
'-1 = unidentified bios
'0 = old award 4.xx bios, 256K
'1 = New Medallion BIOS, 256K
'2 = Old Award 4.xx bios, 128K
'3 = Old Medallion BIOS, 256K
'4 = Other Old Medallion BIOS, 256K
