This is a beta version of the Wireless LAN Connection Monitor, so some ofthe customization is currently hard-coded and must be changed by you.The following steps have been tested on a RedHat 6.0 Linux machine withthe 0.2.6 Linux WLan package, the 1.2.3 glib package, and the 1.2.3 gtk+package. To install the Wireless LAN Monitor, follow these steps:1. Copy the files "am930llc.c", "am930hw.c", and "am930hw.h" to the"drivers" sub-directory of your wlan package. They will over-write the existing files. These are my modifications tothe driver. All of my changes in the source files are preceded by "startmod: tld" and appended with "end mod: tld".2. Recompile and install the driver.3. Open the text file "wlan_monitor.h" and change the two variables thatyou find in there. Ideally this could be done graphically and the valuesstored, but I ran out of time.4. Type "make". It should compile the Wireless LAN Monitor. This worksfine on my computer, but if you have any trouble with this step let meknow. You may have to first install Gnome if you don't have the correctheader files installed already.5. Copy the file "wlan_monitor" to /usr/local/bin. It just has to be inyour path somewhere.6. Copy the file "wlan_monitor.desktop" to /usr/share/applets/Monitors.This may change depending on your installation of Gnome. If so, let meknow where you installed it.7. Copy the file "wlan_monitor.gnorba" to /etc/CORBA/servers/. Again, this may change depending on your installation of Gnome. If so, let meknow where you installed it.8. Load the applet. With Redhat, go to the Gnome menu, select Panel->AddApplet->Monitors->Wireless Monitor.
