    1. Select "Windows NT Setup" from Main program group
    2. Select "Options" from Windows NT Setup window
    3. Select "Add/Remove SCSI Adapter" from menu
    4. Select "Add" from SCSI Adapter Setup window
    5. Select "Other" from the list of supported adapters

* To install the Shining PCMCIA/CitiROM drivers on installed Windows
  NT 3.51 system:

    1. Select "Windows NT Setup" from Main program group
    2. Select "Options" from Windows NT Setup window
    3. Select "Add/Remove SCSI Adapter" from menu
    4. Select "Add" from SCSI Adapter Setup window
    5. Select "Other" from the list of supported adapters
    6. Insert Shining EIDE software diskette
    7. Enter "A:\NT" for path to NT driver and select "OK"
    8. Choose "Shining PCMCIA/CitiROM-ATPCDROM" driver and select "OK"
    9. Select "Install" followed by "Continue" to install the driver


* To install the Shining PCMCIA/CitiROM drivers on installed Windows
  NT 4.0 system:

    1. Select "SCSI Adapter" from "My Computer", "Control Panel" program group.
    2. Select "Drivers" from "SCSI Adapter" icon.
    3. Select "Add" from menu
    4. Select "Have Disks" from menu
    5. Insert Shining EIDE software diskette
    6. Enter "A:\NT" for path to NT driver and select "OK"
    7. Choose "Shining PCMCIA/CitiROM-ATPCDROM" driver and select "OK"
    8. Select "Install" followed by "Continue" to install the driver
    9. When NT question for Driver location, type in "a:\nt".


* If the miniport driver is already installed and you are reinstalling a
  new version, follow the procedure below (DO NOT reboot system in middle
  of procedure, you MUST finish installing new driver before rebooting): 

  Remove old driver first for 3.51 system:

    1. Select "Windows NT Setup" from Main program group
    2. Select "Options" from Windows NT Setup window
    3. Select "Add/Remove SCSI Adapter" from menu
    4. Select the Shining adapter and click on "Remove"
    5. Click on "OK" to continue with removing driver

  Remove old driver first for 4.0 system:

    1. Select "SCSI Adapter" from "My Computer", "Control Panel" program group
    2. Select "Drivers" from "SCSI Adapter" icon.
    3. Select "Remove" from menu
    4. Choose "Shining PCMCIA/CitiROM-ATPCDROM" driver and select "OK"
    5. Click on "OK" to continue with removing driver

  Install new driver and new INF file for 3.51 & 4.0:

    1. Follow the first installation procedures above.
    2. Click on "Install" and "New" followed by "Continue" to install the
       new driver
    3. Exit Setup program, shutdown system and reboot
    4. Both drivers are default to "System" start option.  User can decide
	   to "Disable" one or both of them in the "Control", "Device" list
	   for future start option.


* After installing the Shining drivers and rebooting Windows NT,
  EIDE disk and CD-ROM devices will be automatically configured by NT.
* After installtion, check the "MyComputer", "Devices"; "statpnt" should be 
  marked as "SYSTEM" status.

** Absolutely shutdown/turn-off the computer and then eject the card.
   DO NOT EJECT THE PC CARD OR DISCONNECT THE PERIPHERALS WHILE THE SYSTEM
   IS STILL RUNNING!!  MAY DAMAGE THE HARD DISK FILE SYSTEM TABLE.

* Technical Tips:

   1. How to install/upgrage the NT operating system by CitiROM card?
	  Best way is to install a minimum DOS enviroment for CD-ROM; and install
	  or upgrade the NT operating system from CD-ROM.

	  Second way is to modify the BOOT diskettes.  Usually, there are three
	  boot diskette distributed by NT, it's D1, D2, D3.
	  Following are the texts need to be inserted.
	  a. In D1 diskette, edit the "txtsetup.sif" filie.
		 Find [SourceDiskFiles] section, insert the following line after
		   starjet.dll.  Text as such:
         statpnt.sys = 1,,,,,,_3,4,0,0
      b. In D1 diskette, in the "txtsetup.sif" file.
		 Find [SCSI.Load] section, insert the following line after atapi.
		 Text as such:
		 statpnt = statpnt.sys,4.
      c. In the same file, find [SCSI] section, insert the following line
		 after "atapi", text as such:
         statpnt = "Shining PCMCIA/CitiROM-ATA & ATAPI"
      d. Now you are done with the SIF editing. Save it and exit the editor.
	  e. Last step, copy the "statpnt.sys" file onto the D3.
		 The "statpnt.sys" locate at the "\nt" directory of manufacturer
		 distribution diskette.

   2. For ATAPI LS-120 Floppy user, installation procedure is the same as 
	  installing the CD-ROM driver.  However, it require v3.0 or above
	  STATPNT.SYS driver to work with.  
   3. If you are trying to use the LS120 drive on the NT3.51 system, you
	  MUST upgrade the NT3.51 system to "service pack 5".  
   4. The LS120( ATAPI Floppy ) v4.0 "statpnt.sys" driver is forcing NT
      displaying the LS120 drive as "Floppy" icon in NT4.0 and NT3.51 instead
	  of "Removable Disk" in the v3.xx release.
   5. ATAPI type device like CD-Recordable and CD-Rewritables are supported.
   6. Ignore this item if use already install the NT service pack 4. 
	  User need to install the WinNT4.0 service pack 3 or WinNT3.51 service
	  pack 5 if ZIP 100( ATAPI ) drive is used.  And, also a "zip-fixi.exe"
	  should be also included.  Both the service packs and "zip-fixi.exe"
	  can be accessed from:
	  "http://support.microsoft.com/support/ntserver/default-sl.asp".
	  The NT4.0 service pack 3 can also be found in the above location
		and the "Ziptool" disc.  File name is "NTSPK3_I.EXE"
	  A copy of zip-fixi.exe is included in the diskette for user's convenience.
	  Run the Service Pack 3 and "zipfixi.exe" before installing the 
	    ZIP/ATAPI driver.
   7. Should user already install the HDD NT driver "statant.sys" before,
	  user can disable the "statant.sys" by going to "Control Panel", 
	  "Devices", find the "statant", click on the "StartUp" option and
	  set it to "Disabled" state if no HDD is attached the same adapter.
	  By doing so will speed up the bootup IDE bus device scanning speed. 
   8. NT4.0 may assign a couple irq's to the driver even they are not really
	  usable; which cause system hangup or timeout.
   9. NT accept the partitions and file systems from DOS 6.x only, not
	  FAT32 or BIGDOS, BIGDOSx partitions created by Win95.  Should
	  the hard disk was prepared under Win95 Rev. B( OSR2 ), the disk may
	  not be recognized.
  10. For "statpnt.sys" v5.00 above, the HDD support is included in the
	  driver.  No need to use the "statant.sys" any more.  Go to "SCSI 
	  Adapter" in the control panel, remove both of the "statpnt.sys" and
	  "statant.sys" drivers.  Then "add" back the "statpnt" by using
	  "HaveDisk" option and "new" driver from the diskette.
  11. A copy of System Soft Cardwizard NT Card/Socket Services resource
	  management INI file is included for referrence.  User need to 
	  copy this particular file onto the System Soft distribution diskette
	  before installation or onto the Cardwizard NT directory if the 
	  Cardwizard Card/Socket services are pre-installed already.  Certainly,
	  a reboot with PCMCIA card inserted is required.
	  Tip described is only necessary should Cardwizard is used to replace
	  NT native Card/Socket services.
  12. If user can not get the ATA/ATAPI devices to work on NT4.0 for some 
	  reason, please do the following to exclude IRQ's for PCMCIA card to
	  use( certain IRQ's may be blocked by system that NT4.0 is not aware
	  of ):
	  a.  Go to registry by "Start", "Run", "regedt32".
	  b.  Find the "HKey_LocalMachine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services
		  \Pcmcia" folder.  Use mouse to click on the "Pcmcia" folder.
      c.  User should find the "InterruptMask" key value on the right-hand
		  box.  If not, exit the registry, go to "SCSI Adapter", remove the
		  installed "statpnt" driver, add back the new v5.20 "statpnt" driver
		  by using the v5.20 installation "OEMSETNT.INF" and "statpnt"
		  driver.  After the re-installation, go back to the registry from
		  step a. again.
      d.  The "InterruptMask" is a value belong to "Pcmica" key.  It's 
		  double word value with 16-bit value each bit representing the
		  particular IRQ should be masked or not for PCMCIA card to use.
		  The function is provided to allow user masking out certain IRQ
		  that is used by system like built-in FAX/MODEM function that
		  NT 4.0 is not aware of.
		  Each bit has two value:  1 - disable, 0 - enable.
		  Manufacurer already set to "0x5A01", a hex value as default.

		  The IRQ's 14, 12, 11, 1, 0 are used by the system and are
		  not available for PCMCIA cards.
      e.  To change the InterruptMask value:  
		  Click on the "Pcmcia" folder.  Double-click on the "InterruptMask"
		  and change the value to a new value to exclude the IRQ might
		  be used by system already.
	  f.  If "editing InterruptMask" does not help, access the registry:
	      Find the "HKey_LocalMachine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services
		  \statpnt1" folder.  Use mouse to click on the "Pcmcia" folder and
          double-click to open it.  On the righthand side, it should show 
          current pre-set "InterruptNumber".  Try to change it different 
          value that you feel is available.  Exit registry and reboot.
		  Change the "IoBaseAddress" to different value is also possible:
           Double-click the mouse on the "....\statpnt1" folder.  
           Find the "IoBaseAddress" on the right hand side.  Double click
           it and enter the new value.  Default set to 150( Hex ) value,
           value like 160( Hex ) is also available.  
           Note:  150 and 160 are Hexidecimal value, correspoding decimal
                  value are 336( decimal ) and 352( decimal ).
           Note:  Resource setting in this item applicable to PCMCIA card
		          only.
          
      g.  Support HDD > 8GB for STATPNT.SYS v5.50 and above.
	  h.  When using the CardBus/IDE card, make sure you have SystemSoft
		  Cardwizard NT version v4.x and above installed since NT4.0 does not
		  support CardBus.  Following are the steps to install
		  CardBus/Citirom card in NT:
		  a.  Un-install the v4.x SystemSoft Cardwizard NT in your system.
		  b.  Copy and overwrite "resman.ini" onto the Cardwizard NT 
			  distribution diskette that have the file with identical name 
			  as "resman.ini".
          c.  Use "SCSIAdpater" in "ControlPanel", "Driver", "Remove" the
			  existing "PCMCIA/Citirom..." driver, and then "Add" back
			  both "PCMCIA/CitiROM" and "CardBus/CitiROM" driver back.
          d.  Re-install the SystemSoft Cardwizard NT v4.x with the new
			  "resman.ini" just updated in the item b.
          e.  Reboot to take into effect.
		  f.  v5.80 does not support Hot-swap, so the PC cards have to be
			  inserted before booting up and de-inserted only when system
			  is safe to shutdown.
			  Note: Manufaucture is working v6.0 for Hot-swap in NT4.0 now.
