<BLOCKQUOTE><i>Number</i> can be negative only if <i>exponent</i> is an integer value. When more than one exponentiation is performed in a single expression, the <b>^</b> operator is evaluated as it is encountered from left to right.<P>
If either <i>number</i> or <i>exponent</i> is a
