I am an Information Technology Instructor with Holland College in Prince Edward Island, Canada. I also work with our international Projects division, where I am responsible for monitoring and assisting in the delivery of Holland College's joint venture programs at several partner institutions across China. I know that letters of recommendation are often mass produced in China and therefore can sometime receive little credence; so I feel it is imperative that I sate that I provide letters of recommendation to very few students; and do so only for those that display exceptional qualities and high levels of performance. 
</p>
<p>
I am writing to express the very positive impression that Robert Yao (Yao Haixiao) has made upon me during his time as a student in our joint venture 'Business Programmer Analyst Program' located at 'Wuhan Railway Vocational Technological College'. I've had the pleasure instructing him for more than three months over the past two years. 
</p>
<p>
Robert has very good work ethic and possesses the sincere interest in his studies is required to excel in the IT industry. He has much greater initiative than most students I have worked with both China and Canada. He routinely stays after class to work independently until the college closes. This is reflected in the quality of his work, as it is always well above the class average. He also often completes his work ahead of schedule and spends the remainder of his class time assisting other students who are having difficulties. 
</p>
<p>
Although his English certification is not exceptionally high (CET-4), his oral English and his comprehension is particular, are very good. His assistances to me as a translator has been invaluable during classroom lectures that over technical content on software development. 
</p>
<p>
Robert is a confident young man who is respectful of other individuals, including the authority of his instructors. He is able & willing to express opinions & ideas in an articulate manner and understands how different cultural settings can determine whether or not this is appropriate. 
</p>
<p>
His maturity, initiative, ability to work & learn independently as well as his cultural awareness, will be the keys to his success in all of his future endeavors. I would highly recommend Robert with the utmost confidence for any challenging position in your company; regardless if it is a governmental Chinese work unit, a private enterprise, or a foreign joint venture.
