<P>Linux 支援所有顯示卡的文字模式, 沒(méi)被列在下面的其他VGA 卡也許可以在單色 VGA 和/或標(biāo)準(zhǔn) VGA
驅(qū)動(dòng)程式下使用。
<P>如果你真在考慮購(gòu)買便宜的顯示卡來(lái)執(zhí)行 X,您要了解的是繪圖加速卡 (ATI Mach, ET4000/W32p, S3)
會(huì)比只有部份加速的繪圖卡 (Cirrus, WD) 在速度上要來(lái)得快。
<P>``32 bpp'' 事實(shí)上是介於 24 bit 色彩與 32 bit 的□圍內(nèi)。那并不表示繪圖卡有支援
32 bit 色彩的能力,它們還是顯示 24 bit 色彩 (16,777,216 色)。 24 bit packed pixels 模式并不被
XFree86 所支援。因此,或許有的繪圖卡在其他作業(yè)系統(tǒng)上使可以使用 24 bit 模式來(lái)獲取高解析度,
但有可能在使用 XFree86 的 X 時(shí)卻不被支援。這些介面卡包含 Mach32, Cirrus 542x, S3 801/805/868/968,
ET4000以及其他的。.
<P>AGP (加速的繪圖埠) 支援正快速地成長(zhǎng)中。大部份的 X-伺服器 (不管是免費(fèi)的或是商業(yè)版的) 或多或少對(duì) AGP 有些許支援。
