Once upon a time there lived in Germany two brothers named Jacob and William. They liked to listen to old stories and then write them down. In time they had enough stories to make a book.
"You must get your stories printed," a friend said. "They are wonderful tales!"
At last the brothers took their stories to a printer. "Will you print these stories in a book?" Jacob asked. "We ask no money for them."
"It won't be much of a book," William added. "Who will want to buy it?"
The printer smiled - and took the stories.
To the brothers' surprise, the book sold well. And over the years it has sold better and better. Today it is one of the world's most famous books. Only the Bible sells more copies each year.
The brothers were Jacob and William Grimm. You can guess the name of their book! It is Grimms' Fairy Tales.
