This page is designed for users to view / input / change timesheet information.<br>
<br>
Timesheet is recorded on a weekly basis identified by a start period (week
beginning date - Sunday). However, it is a good practice to enter
your timesheet information at the end or beginning of every working day.<br>
<br>
For a fulltime employee, the number of working hours in a day is 8
hours usually. At least 40 hours should be reported for each week. For
a part-time employee or contractor, there is no such restriction.<br>
<br>
You can only enter timesheet information on projects that you are assigned
to by Netstar Resourcs Manager. A fictitious project (Internal Administration)
has been setup for you to enter the time spent on non-project
related activities such as vacation, sick, compensation leave, etc.<br>
<br>
You must <a href="#Input/Change Timesheet">enter</a> and <a href="#Save/Cancel">finalize</a> your timesheet by Wednesday of the following week. Otherwise you will
receive a reminder e-mail. If you do not submit (finalize) your timesheet
by end of the following week, your Project Manager and/or Department Manager
will be notified.<br>

<b><a name="Input/Change Timesheet"></a>Steps to input/change/view a timesheet</b>
<ol>
<li>Verify if the <b>User Name</b> field displays your name. If not, please <a href="Contact.html" target="_self">contact the support</a>. <br>
If you are a project director/manager, you are allowed to view the timesheet
information of your team members. A User Name drop down box is provided
for you to select User.
<li>Check the <b>Start period</b> date (Sunday) if this is the week you want to access. The default
is the current week. Click the <input type="button" readonly value="Show"> button if yes.
<li>If you want to change the <b>Start period</b> date, click the date box to display a popup calendar for the current month.
To select another month, click the month and/or year pull down lists. Click
(select) the <font color="#ff0000">week beginning date</font> from the popup calendar.
<li>If the timesheet you selected is finalized, you can only view it. <a href="Contact.html" target="_self">Contact the support</a> if you want to change it.

<ol>
<li>From the Project drop down box, select a project that you want to enter
timesheet information for the week. If you could not find it,
please contact your Project Manager to assign you to the project.
<li>Change, if necessary, the default value in the
<b>Number of Lines</b> box to the no. of lines you want to add for the selected project.
<li>Click the <input type="button" readonly value="Add"> button.

<b><a name="Change Activity"></a>Steps to change Activities</b>
<ol>
<li>Select the appropriate activity from the <b>Activity</b> pull down box if not already selected. If you could not find it, please
contact your Project Manager to assign the activity to the project.
Note: you cannot input two rows in a timesheet for the same Project/Activity.
You should lump them up into one row.
<li>Input/Change the number of hours spent in <b>Sun/Mon./Tue./.../Sat.</b> columns in multiples of <b>0.5 hours</b>.
<li><b>Total</b> column - non input fields for information. Each sums up the number of
hours spent on the respective Project/Activity for the whole
week.
<li><b>Total</b> row - non input fields for information. Each sums up the number of hours
worked for a day.
<li>To delete an activity row, blank out all the 7 input fields in that row
and Save or Finalize the timesheet following <a href="#Save/Cancel">Steps to save or cancell your changes</a>.
<li>If you need more activities, follow <a href="#Add Activity">Steps to add Activities</a>.

<b><a name="Save/Cancel"></a>Steps to save or cancel your changes</b>
Click one of the following buttons:
<input type="button" value="Save" readonly>
<ul>
<li>Save the changes to the database. Note: saving the data would not
submit the timesheet to your Project Manager. The timesheet is still
treated as incomplete. You should click the Finalize button below after
your have entered and verified all the time spent for the whole
week.

<input type="button" value="Finalize" readonly>
<ul>
<li>Perform validation - for employee, a minimum of 40 hours should be entered
per week. Otherwise a warning message will be displayed.
<li>Save the changes to the database.
<li><font color="#ff0000">Once finalized, you are not allowed to make any change to the timesheet.</font> <a href="Contact.html" target="_self">Contact the support</a> if you want to change a finalized timesheet.

<li>Ignore the changes made to the current timesheet. This button is equivalent
to the <input type="button" readonly value="Show"> button.

<li>For a fulltime employee, you can enter less than 8 hours per day as long
as the total for the week is at least 40 hours (exception is allowed for
some staff).
<li>If you have worked overtime and got some time off in the current week,
you should enter the time off as compensation leave activity in the current
week to make up the 40 weekly total.
