This package contains LINS08AW60 v.1.01.

The product is developed according to the documents:
  - LIN Specification Package, Revision 1.3, 12 December 2002
    
The product is intended for MC68HC9S08AW60 Freescale microcontroller (MCU).

It is strongly recommended that the following compiler version is used:
  - CodeWarrior Development Studio for Freescale HC08 Version 5.1;

This document contains additional information about the product.

1. Installation

1.1. Setup instructions

It is strongly recommended to close all running applications and login as 
Administrator before LINS08AW60 installation. It helps to avoid an access
error during system icons installation and updating Windows Registry.

Run the SETUP.EXE program from the LINS08AW60 installation directory of the 
distribution kit.

Follow the prompts and instructions of the installation program.

The installation program copies all needed files to the target directory. 
It is strongly recommended to select valid target directory name.

File FILELIST.TXT in the installation root directory contains a complete 
directory structure and list of files included in this release.

It is necessary to install Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or newer to 
view the LINS08AW60 User Manual.

The LINS08AW60 driver installation will occupy approximately 1.0MB 
of disk space.

1.2. Uninstallation

To uninstall LINS08AW60 Driver Software use one of the following:
  - "Uninstall" icon in the LINKit for AW60 Program Folder in Windows
    Start/Programs menu or
  - "Add/Remove Programs" applet in the "Control Panel" folder.

Delete LINKitAW60 root directory and all its subdirectories to remove the data
created during LINS08AW60 Driver usage.

If the LIN Program Folder is not removed from Windows Start Programs Menu
after uninstallation then remove it manually.


2. Development hardware and software recommendations

This version of the product is to be used on IBM PC 486 (or higher)
compatible computer.

The PC has to work under Windows 95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP during LIN08s installation.

It is necessary to install Adobe (R) Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or newer
to view the LINS08AW60 User's Manual.

2.1. Compilers

The following compiler suite should be installed for application 
compilation and linking:

  - CodeWarrior Development Studio for Freescale HC08;

  Note:
    The following compiler version has been used for LIN08s Driver
    developing and testing:
    
    - CodeWarrior Development Studio for Freescale HC08 Version 5.1;
    
    These compiler version is recommended for application developing
    with LINS08AW60 Driver.
