The File button provides access tothe Quit item, which terminates the browser. The About button provides accessto the Tornado item, which launches an information window about the currentversion of the Tornado development environment. The Help button providesaccess to two menu items: On Browser and Manuals. Both of these items launchthe <b><a href="../hutils/windman.html#top" >windman</a></b> tool. The first item displays the browser manual pages, whilethe second item displays the home page for the Tornado Online Manuals.<p></blockQuote><h4>Button bar</h4><blockQuote>The button bar contains five buttons:<p><dl><dt>Immediate-update button (!)<dd><p><dt>Periodic-update button (clock)<dd>The browser can be updated in two modes. The first is the <i>per-request</i>mode: the browser updates its windows each time the immediate-updatebutton is pressed. The second is the <i>intervals</i> mode and isselected when the periodic-update button is pressed.Use the parameter-adjustment button (described below) to specify the updateinterval.Note that a second click on this button will stop theautomatic update. These actions affect all the windows associated to thebrowser.<p><dt>Stack-check button (stacked plates)<dd>More information about the target activity is available via thestack-check button and the spy panel. Press thestack-check button to get the spy panel. This panel summarizes thecurrent and maximum stack usage for each task currently running.<p><dt>Spy button (chart)<dd>Pressing the spy button starts the spy facility on thetarget. Results of the survey are regularly sent to a dedicated windowthat shows the CPU usage per task.Use the parameter-adjustment button (described below) to configure the spyfacility.Note that the spy report is stopped if thespy button is pressed again.<p><dt>Parameter-adjustment button (tools)<dd> The browser configuration panel is called when the parameter-adjustmentbutton is pressed. This configuration panel lets you choosebetween various modes: the symbol may be sorted by name or by address,and spy may be run in cumulative or differential modes. Also, spy reporttime and frequency, and the browser update interval may be specifiedhere.<p>State indicators (under the the button bar) keep track of the browserconfiguration. </dl><p></blockQuote><h4>Hierarchical Windows</h4><blockQuote>The browser's windows are organized following a hierarchical model much likedirectories in a file system. It is possible to hide or display groups ofdata selectively by closing or opening the groups in which they belong. Eachgroup is identified by a title preceded by a folder-like icon. This icongroups related information and is open by default. A mouse click onthis icon closes it, thus hiding the information in groups.Because the information model is hierarchical, closing the top-levelfolder icon hides all the underlying groups.<p></blockQuote><h4>Task Information</h4><blockQuote>Tasks are displayed in two lists: one for system tasks (WRS tasks),the other for user tasks. These lists can be closed or opened byclicking the folder icons. A synopsis of each task is provided, includingthe task ID, the task name, and the task status.<p>Clicking on the task ID in either task list displays apop-up window holding data about the selected task, such as itsattributes, stack, and registers.<p></blockQuote><h4>Show Facility</h4><blockQuote>The browser can display detailed information about objects managed bythe remote target system. To use this feature, type or copy anobject's name or ID into the text window, and then press the Showbutton. If the object type is known, a pop-up window holding variousdetails about the object is displayed.<p></blockQuote><h4>Memory Utilization</h4><blockQuote>The browser displays two bar graphs that represent the amount of allocatedmemory in the target agent's memory pool and in the target runtime's memorypool.<p>Clicking in the lower bar graph displays a specialized browser that givesdetailed information about the target memory usage.<p></blockQuote><h4>Loaded Modules</h4><blockQuote>The lowest part of the browser window gives information about loadedmodules: module ID, module name, size of text segment, size of datasegment, and size of bss segment.The total size for all text, data, and bss segments is also displayed.<p>If more precise information about a module is required, clicking on themodule name or ID will display a hierarchical window that holds data suchas load options, module format, module type, module address, module segmentsize, and a list of the published module symbols. Use theparameter-adjustment button to specify how to sort symbols.<p></blockquote><h4>OPTIONS</h4><blockquote><p>The browser accepts the X Toolkit Intrinsics standard command-line parameterssuch <b>-display</b> or <b>-iconic</b> plus the following dedicated options:<dl><dt><b>-T | -Tclmode</b><dd>Run a Tcl interpreter on standard input.
