《模擬城市》(SimCity)是美國藝電出品的一個城市建造(City-Building game)的電子游戲,首部作品發(fā)售于1989年,是Maxis的第一個產(chǎn)品。最初發(fā)行的平臺為DOS,之后又陸續(xù)推出了麥金塔、Windows與超級任天堂等平臺上的版本。當(dāng)前該系列的版權(quán)所有者以及發(fā)行商為美國藝電(EA)。 2008年1月10日,EA以GPL協(xié)議開放原始版本,更名為Micropolis,特別針對OLPC。 在2013年EA/Maxis發(fā)布了全新的《模擬城市》系列游戲,將游戲名稱定為與1989年相同的名稱《模擬城市》,并且通過Origin平臺才可以進行游戲。在Maxis被問道這款游戲是否叫做“模擬城市5”的時候,Maxis說,這款游戲不是《模擬城市4》的迭代,而是一款全新的游戲,我們叫他《模擬城市》。國內(nèi)外的《模擬城市》粉絲們將它叫做《模擬城市(2013)》或者“SC(2013)”。 為了相互區(qū)別Maxis的第一部和第五部作品,本詞條用游戲發(fā)布時間分別命名為《模擬城市(1989)》和《模擬城市(2013)》。EA/Maxis官方目前分別稱之為:Micropolis和SimCity(港臺譯名:模擬城市)。

The Internet of Things is considered to be the next big opportunity, and challenge, for the Internet engineering community, users of technology, companies and society as a whole. It involves connecting embedded devices such as sensors, home appliances, weather stations and even toys to Internet Protocol (IP) based networks. The number of IP-enabled embedded devices is increasing rapidly, and although hard to estimate, will surely outnumber the number of personal computers (PCs) and servers in the future. With the advances made over the past decade in microcontroller,low-power radio, battery and microelectronic technology, the trend in the industry is for smart embedded devices (called smart objects) to become IP-enabled, and an integral part of the latest services on the Internet. These services are no longer cyber, just including data created by humans, but are to become very connected to the physical world around us by including sensor data, the monitoring and control of machines, and other kinds of physical context. We call this latest frontier of the Internet, consisting of wireless low-power embedded devices, the Wireless Embedded Internet. Applications that this new frontier of the Internet enable are critical to the sustainability, efficiency and safety of society and include home and Building automation, healthcare, energy efficiency, smart grids and environmental monitoring to name just a few.

OSCILLATORS are key Building blocks in integrated transceivers. In wired and wireless communication terminals, the receiver front-end selects, amplifies and converts the desired high-frequency signal to baseband. At baseband the signal can then be converted into the digital domain for further data processing and demodula- tion. Before delving into the details of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), relevant background material must be presented first. The purpose of this chapter is to provide the necessary Building blocks for the development of OFDM principles. Included in this chapter are reviews of stochastic and random process, discrete-time signals and systems, and the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). Tooled with the necessary mathematical foundation, we proceed with an overview of digital communication systems and OFDM communication systems. We conclude the chapter with summaries of the OFDM wireless LAN standards currently in existence and a high-level comparison of single carrier systems versus OFDM.
