The GIFT (the GNU Image-Finding Tool) is a Content Based Image Retrieval System (CBIRS: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBIR). It enables you to do Query By Example (QBE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QBE) on images, giving you the opportunity to improve query results by relevance feedback. For processing your queries the program relies entirely on the content of the images, freeing you from the need to annotate all images before querying the collection.

A general technique for the recovery of signicant
image features is presented. The technique is based on
the mean shift algorithm, a simple nonparametric pro-
cedure for estimating density gradients. Drawbacks of
the current methods (including robust clustering) are
avoided. Feature space of any nature can be processed,
and as an example, color image segmentation is dis-
cussed. The segmentation is completely autonomous,
only its class is chosen by the user. Thus, the same
program can produce a high quality edge image, or pro-
vide, by extracting all the signicant colors, a prepro-
cessor for CONTENT-based query systems. A 512 512
color image is analyzed in less than 10 seconds on a
standard workstation. Gray level images are handled
as color images having only the lightness coordinate

It mainly consists of two parts: MSP430 Launch Pad and main board. Compared with traditional microcontroller experiment equipment,a few analog circuits were added. The experiment we set up takes advantage of all microcontroller peripherals. Students can do two kinds of experiments: module experiment and complex experiment.Therefore it fits university students in automation and electrical major very well.
