This m-file simulates MPSK (theoretical and simulated) with Gray coding
This m-file simulates MPSK (BPSK,QPSK,8PSK)with theoretical and simulated results using Gray coding. Numerical examples of a satellite link design are shown using QPSK and/or 8PSK when the bit rate(Rb)is greater than the channel bandwidth Wc (Band-limited channel).
Two functions, num2bin and bin2num are provided. num2bin takes a double and converts it to a binary string representation. bin2num is its inverse operation. It can be used in a numerical analysis course when floating point arithmetic is discussed.
《Prolog Programming in Depth》:
In this book, we emphasize practical Prolog programming, not just theory. We
present several ready-to-run expert system shells, as well as routines for sorting, searching, natural language processing, and even numerical equation solving.
We also emphasize interoperability with other software. For example, Chapter 5 presents techniques for reading Lotus spreadsheets and other special file formats from within a Prolog program.
The Engineering Vibration Toolbox is a set of educational programs
written in Octave by Joseph C. Slater. Also included are a number of help files,
demonstration examples, and data files containing raw experimental data. The
codes include single degree of freedom response, response spectrum, finite
elements, numerical integration, and phase plane analysis.
We present a particle filter construction for a system that exhibits
time-scale separation. The separation of time-scales allows two simplifications
that we exploit: i) The use of the averaging principle for the
dimensional reduction of the system needed to solve for each particle
and ii) the factorization of the transition probability which allows the
Rao-Blackwellization of the filtering step. Both simplifications can be
implemented using the coarse projective integration framework. The
resulting particle filter is faster and has smaller variance than the particle
filter based on the original system. The convergence of the new
particle filter to the analytical filter for the original system is proved
and some numerical results are provided.

IEEE Std 1180-1990. IEEE Standard Specifications for the Implementations of 8x8 Inverse Discrete Cosine Transform, specifies the numerical characteristics of the 8x8 inverse discrete cosine transform (IDCT) for use in visual telephony and similar applications where the 8x8 IDCT results are used in a reconstruction loop. The specifications ensure the compatibility between different implementations of the IDCT.
PCA and PLS aims:to get some
insight into the bilinear factor models Principal Component Analysis
(PCA) and Partial Least Squares (PLS) regression, focusing on the
mathematics and numerical aspects rather than how s and why s of
data analysis practice. For the latter part it is assumed (but not
absolutely necessary) that the reader is already familiar with these
methods. It also assumes you have had some preliminary experience
with linear/matrix algebra.
These Simulink blocks contain transfer functions that model the pressure and flow transients for axisymmetric 2D viscous flow of a compressible fluid in a straight rigid circular cross section pipelines. Three models are available:
(1) pressures at the ends
(2) flow rates at the ends
(3) pressure at one end and flow rate at the other
Filtering is incorporated to reduce numerical oscillation (Gibbs phenomenon). See J. Dyn. Systems, Meas. & Control vol 122 (2000) pp. 153-162.
This title demonstrates how to develop computer programmes which solve specific engineering problems using the finite element method. It enables students, scientists and engineers to assemble their own computer programmes to produce numerical results to solve these problems. The first three editions of Programming the Finite Element Method established themselves as an authority in this area. This fully revised 4th edition includes completely rewritten programmes with a unique description and list of parallel versions of programmes in Fortran 90. The Fortran programmes and subroutines described in the text will be made available on the Internet via anonymous ftp, further adding to the value of this title.
