For a variety of reasons, it is desirable to charge batteriesas rapidly as possible. At the same time, overchargingmust be limited to prolong battery life. Such limitation ofovercharging depends on factors such as the choice ofcharge termination technique and the use of Multi-Rate/multi-stage charging schemes. The majority of batterycharger ICs available today lock the user into one fixedcharging regimen, with at best a limited number ofcustomization options to suit a variety of application needsor battery types. The LTC®1325 addresses these shortcomingsby providing the user with all the functionalblocks needed to implement a simple but highly flexiblebattery charger (see Figure 1) which not only addressesthe issue of charging batteries but also those of batteryconditioning and capacity monitoring.

This an adaptive receiver for a direct-sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) system over an AWGN channel. The adaptive receiver block is modified from the LMS adaptive filter block in DSP Blockset. For DS-SS signal reception, the adaptive filter needs to have Multi-Rate operation. The input sample rate is equal to chip rate and the output is at symbol rate. It is more than a decade since GSM was first commercially available. After some unexpected delay, it seems that finally UMTS is here to stay as a 3G system standardised by 3GPP, at least for another ten years. UMTS will enable multi-service, Multi-Rate and flexible IP native-based mobile technologies to be used in wide area scenarios and also pave the way for a smooth transition from circuit switched voice networks to mobile packet services.

為提升虛擬儀器傳輸速率與實時性能，擴展監測范圍，在VC的軟件平臺上設計了一種全功能虛擬示波器。與傳統虛擬示波器相比，該系統采用嵌入式系統完成信號采集，采用工業以太網為傳輸介質，通過線性插值算法和多線程編程思想，實現波形顯示、參數計算、頻譜分析以及波形存儲及回放功能。實驗結果表明，該虛擬示波器可以實現20 kHz采樣頻率下的波形精確顯示，達到預期的各項指標。 Abstract: o enhance the transfer rate and real-time of virtual instrument performance， expand scope of monitoring， this paper uses the VCs software platform to design a fully functional virtual oscilloscope. Compared with traditional virtual oscilloscope， this system adopts the embedded system to complete the data acquisition， industrial Ethernet as the transmission medium used by the linear interpolation algorithm and multi-threaded programming ideas， namely to achieve waveform display， parameter calculation， spectrum analysis and waveform storage and playback. Experimental results show that the virtual oscilloscope can accurately display the waveform with 20kHz sampling frequency， and achieve the desired targets.

The data plane of the reference design consists of a configurable multi-channel XBERT modulethat generates and checks high-speed serial data transmitted and received by the MGTs. Eachchannel in the XBERT module consists of two MGTs (MGTA and MGTB), which physicallyoccupy one MGT tile in the Virtex-4 FPGA. Each MGT has its own pattern checker, but bothMGTs in a channel share the same pattern generator. Each channel can load a differentpattern. The MGT serial rate depends on the reference clock frequency and the internal PMAdivider settings. The reference design can be scaled anywhere from one channel (two MGTs)to twelve channels (twenty-four MGTs).
