When I started writing the first edition of RF Power Amplifiers for Wireless Communications, some time back in 1997, it seemed that I was roaming a largely uninhabitedlandscape. For reasons still not clear to me there were few, if any, otherbooks dedicated to the subject of RF power amplifiers. Right at the same time, however, hundreds of engineers were being assigned projects to design PAs for wirelesscommunications products. It was not, therefore, especially difficult to be successfulwith a book that was fortuitously at the right place and the right time.
Linear Technology offers some of the highest performance RF and signal chain solutions for wireless and cellularinfrastructure. These products support worldwide standards including, LTE, WiMAX, GSM,W-CDMA, TD-SCDMA,CDMA, and CDMA2000. Other wireless systems include broadband microwave data links, secure communications, satellite receivers, broadband wireless access, wireless broadcast systems, RFID readers and cable infrastructure
Abstract: With industrial/scientific/medical (ISM) band radio frequency (RF) products, often times users are new to the structure of Maxim's low pin-count transmitters andfully integrated superheterodyne receivers. This tutorial provides simple steps that can be taken to get the best performance out of these transmitters and receivers whileproviding techniques to measure the overall capability of the design.
