A Case Study: Replacing the persistence layer of a
Business Process Engine with JDO
The JDO specification (JSR-12) was Released from the Java Community Process in April
2002. Its goal is to provide transparent persistence to Java classes. David Jordan provides
a concise introduction. Several books are becoming available that provide a more complete description of JDO3.
JaNet: Java Neural Network Toolkit
resume: A well documented toolkit for designing and training, and a java library for inclusion in third party programs.
description: jaNet package is a java neural network toolkit, which you can use to design, test, train and optimize an ideal Neural Network for your private application. You can then include your saved network in your program using the jaNet.backprop package. The consequent documentation is only in french for the moment, but an english translation is planned. The java source code is Released under GPL, and can be compiled with JDK, Symantec Cafe or MS Visual J

December 19, 2006 - Ant 1.7.0 Available
Apache Ant 1.7.0 is now available for download.
Ant 1.7 introduces a resource framework. Some of the core ant tasks such as <copy/> are now able to process not only file system resources but also zip entries, tar entries, paths, ... Resource collections group resources, and can be further combined with operators such as union and intersection. This can be extended by custom resources and custom tasks using resources.
Ant 1.7 starts outsourcing of optional tasks to Antlibs. The .NET antlib in preparation will replace the .NET optional tasks which ship in Ant. Support for the version control system Subversion will be only provided as an antlib to be Released shortly.
Ant 1.7 fixes also a large number of bugs.
Ant 1.7 has some initial support for Java6 features.
fwknop stands for "Firewall Knock Operator" and is an upcoming piece of software that will be Released at the DEFCON 12 conference in July, 2004 in Las Vegas.
fwknop implements network access controls (via iptables) based on a flexible port knocking mini-language, but with a twist it combines port knocking and passive operating system fingerprinting to make it possible to do things like only allow, say, Linux-2.4/2.6 systems to connect to your SSH daemon.
fwknop supports shared, multi-protocol port knock sequences along with both relative and absolute timeouts, and coded port knock sequences encrypted with the Rijndael block cipher.
