This edition updates and continues the series of books based on the residential
courses on radiowave propagation organised by the IEE/IET.
The first course was held in 1974, with lectures by H. Page, P. Matthews,
D. Parsons, M.W. Gough, P.A. Watson, E. Hickin, T. Pratt, P. Knight, T.B. Jones,
P.A. Bradley, B. Burgess and H. Rishbeth.
Machine learning is a broad and fascinating field. Even
today, machine learning technology runs a substantial part of your
life, often without you knowing it. Any plausible approach to artifi-
cial intelligence must involve learning, at some level, if for no other
reason than it’s hard to call a system intelligent if it cannot learn.
Machine learning is also fascinating in its own right for the philo-
sophical questions it raises about what it means to learn and succeed
at tasks.
Abstract: The rapid build out of today's smart grid raises a number of security questions. In this article,we review two recent well-documented security breaches and a report of a security gap. These situationsinclude a 2009 smart-meter hack in Puerto Rico; a 2012 password discovery in grid distributionequipment; and insecure storage of a private key in distribution automation equipment. For each of theseattacks, we examine the breach, the potential threat, and secure silicon methods that, as part of acomplete security strategy, can help thwart the attacks.

提出了一種以S3C2440A為核心處理器的銀行評價器的設計方案，并結合XILINX公司的XL95144XL型CPLD，輔助S3C2440A，實現該銀行評價器的各部分功能以及系統信號之間的相互協調。該評價器在系統設計上采用液晶屏顯示，代替了以往簡單的數碼管電路的顯示模式，在視覺上給人以全新的享受。同時，評價器增加了新的網絡供電方式，只要將評價器連接上網絡就可以正常工作，方便了客戶的使用?？傊丝钽y行評價器采用了嵌入式系統的設計方案，大大豐富了系統功能，實現一個銀行評價器設計的新突破。
Abstract: S3C2440A of SamSung company is the core component of the embedded system. A design of bank assessor based on S3C2440A was provided in this paper. It used XL95144XL combined with S3C2440A to realize all the functions and coordination with system signals. This bank assessor used LCD to display instead of the former simple digital display and provided a new seusuous enjoment. Meanwhile，it provided a new method of network power supply，that the bank assessor could regularly work once it connected to the network，which is convenient for customers to use. In a word，this assessor takes embedded system，enriches the system’s functions and reclizes a new breakout.
針對目前燃氣灶市場的狀況，提出一種基于PIC16C711單片機的燃氣灶脈沖點火控制器設計,具體包括有系統的組成和功能介紹、硬件電路設計及軟件功能實現。
Abstract:
Aiming at today’s gas cooker market, a pulse ignition controler design based on PIC16C711 is presented.The specific descriptions of system components and functions,hardware circuit design and software function are given.
The CAT823, CAT824, and CAT825 provide basic reset and monitoring functions for the electronic systems. Each device monitors the system voltage and maintains a reset output until that voltage reaches the device’s specified trip value and then maintains the reset output active condition until the device’s internal timer, after a minimum timer of 140ms; toallow the systems power supply to stabilize.
