    The goal of our final project was to design an efficient elevator simulator that can accept input from a user and mechanically operate (on a small scale) a system of 4 floors and 3 elevators using pulleys and stepper motors. Users enter input using physical pushbuttons or the computer. This input is then processed by the MCU and orders are given to the elevators. We attempted to devise an algorithm that can optimally handle any number of floors. This project seemed like a fun challenge and something that had practical applications. Both of us have been frustrated at times by the inefficiency of some of the elevators here at Cornell, and we wanted to see if we could do a better job.

    The large-scale deployment of the smart grid (SG) paradigm could play a strategic role in supporting the evolution of conventional electrical grids toward active, flexible and self- healing web energy networks composed of distributed and cooperative energy resources. From a conceptual point of view, the SG is the convergence of information and operational technologies applied to the electric grid, providing sustainable options to customers and improved security. Advances in research on SGs could increase the efficiency of modern electrical power systems by: (i) supporting the massive penetration of SMALL-scale distributed and dispersed generators; (ii) facilitating the integration of pervasive synchronized metering systems; (iii) improving the interaction and cooperation between the network components; and (iv) allowing the wider deployment of self-healing and proactive control/protection paradigms.

  • 基于Small RTOS51和FPGA的誤碼儀的研究與設計

    本文分析了誤碼儀系統需求,制定出誤碼儀由誤碼測試子系統和人機界面子系統構成的總體結構圖.提出采用FPGA進行誤碼測試子系統模塊設計,提高了系統功能擴展性和系統的集成度,使用嵌入式操作系統進行系統應用軟件設計提高系統實時性.研究了傳統誤碼儀在誤碼測試子系統上設計方法,給出了偽隨機碼、人工碼、誤碼插入、誤碼計算模塊的設計原理,介紹了帶同步保護的同步判決模塊的設計方法,采用數據復合和數據分解技術,實現了高速人工碼發送以及誤碼測試,還制定了子系統間的通信協議.設計了人機界面子系統硬件電路圖,并詳細介紹了人機界面子系統中顯示模塊、實時時鐘模塊、數據存儲模塊、串行RS232通信模塊、鍵盤接口模塊的硬件設計及其驅動程序的開發.介紹了Small RTOS51嵌入式操作系統的特點,運行條件,重要概念以及移植方法,提出了使用Small RTOS51嵌入式操作系統的原因.分析了系統應用軟件需求,給出了基于Small RTOS51嵌入式操作系統任務創建方法,以及任務調度關系,詳細介紹了各任務執行流程圖.
