The LTC®3562 quad output Step-Down regulator is designedfor multicore handheld microprocessor applications thatoperate from a single Li-Ion battery. Its four monolithic, higheffi ciency buck regulators support Intel’s mobile CPU P-Stateand C-State energy saving operating modes. The outputvoltages are independently controllable via I2C, and eachoutput can be independently started and shut down. Designerscan choose from power saving pulse-skipping mode orBurst Mode® operation, or select low noise LDO mode. Thespace-saving LTC3562 is available in a 3mm × 3mm QFNpackage and requires few external components.
Linear Technology’s DC/DC Step-Down μModule®regulators are complete switchmode power supplies in asurface-mount package. They include the DC/DC controller, inductor, power switches and supporting circuitry. These highly integrated regulators also provide an easysolution for applications that require negative outputvoltages. In other words, these products can operate asinverting buck-boost regulators. As a result, the lowestpotential in the circuit is not the standard 0V, but –VOUT,which must be tied to the μModule regulator’s GND. Allsignals are now referred to –VOUT.
The TL2575 and TL2575HV represent superior alternatives to popular three-terminal linear regulators. Due totheir high efficiency, the devices significantly reduce the size of the heatsink and, in many cases, no heatsink isrequired. Optimized for use with standard series of inductors available from several different manufacturers, theTL2575 and TL2575HV greatly simplify the design of switch-mode power supplies by requiring a minimaladdition of only four to six external components for operation.
The AP2406 is a 1.5Mhz constant frequency, slope compensated current mode PWM Step-Down converter. The device integrates a main switch and a synchronous rectifier for high efficiency without an external Schottky diode. It is ideal for powering portable equipment that runs from a single cell lithium-Ion (Li+) battery. The AP2406 can supply 600mA of load current from a 2.5V to 5.5V input voltage. The output voltage can be regulated as low as 0.6V. The AP2406 can also run at 100% duty cycle for low dropout operation, extending battery life in portable system. Idle mode operation at light loads provides very low output ripple voltage for noise sensitive applications.
The AP2406 is offered in a low profile (1mm) 5-pin, thin SOT package, and is available in an adjustable version and fixed output voltage of 1.2V, 1.5V and 1.8V
PW2330 develops a high efficiency synchronous step down DC-DC converter capable of delivering3A output current. PW2330 operates over a wide input voltage range from 4.5V to 30V andintegrates main switch and synchronous switch with very low RDS(ON) to minimize the conductionloss. PW2330 adopts the proprietary instant PWM architecture to achieve fast transient responsesfor high step down applications and high efficiency at light loads. In addition, it operates atpseudo-constant frequency of 500kHz under continuous conduction mode to minimize the size ofinductor and capacitor
