What I am trying to introduce here is a full fledged Java Instant messenger, which has all the features supplied by commercial messengers like Yahoo or MSN. Although it cannot compared to be in par with those messengers, it is an attempt by me to learn Advanced Java and JNI concepts. The challenges I faced here were often overcome by referring to numerous sites, which nearly zeroes in or completely solved the issues I faced at that point of time. It improved my learning curve and also believe would do the same to you too. Ofcourse, there are some bugs and glitches, which I hope you would excuse. Thanks to anyone who takes the pain to report them or even suggest better way of doing things to me.

This is a short text on arrays and pointers in C with an emphasis
on using multi-dimensional arrays. The seemingly unrelated C rules
are explained as an attempt to unify arrays and pointers, replacing
arrays and the basic array equation by a new notation and special
rules

C in A Nutshell
Learning a language--any language--involves a process wherein you learn to rely less and less on instruction and more increasingly on the aspects of the language you ve mastered. Whether you re learning French, Java, or C, at some point you ll set aside the tutorial and attempt to converse on your own. It s not necessary to know every subtle facet of French in order to speak it well, especially if there s a good dictionary available. Likewise, C programmers don t need to memorize every detail of C in order to write good programs. What they need instead is a reliable, comprehensive reference that they can keep nearby. C in a Nutshell is that reference.

SensorSimII is the framework of a simulator that I have been working on to study how future sensor networks should operate. the simulator is written in a modular fashion so that it can be adapted to serve a number of needs. However, please remember that it is still a work in progress. This web page is here just to give a glimpse of the approach we ve taken with this simulator. Likewise this web page is simply preliminary information to attempt to answer some of the questions that researchers might have about this project.

face detection
Face detection can be regarded as a more general case of face localization In face localization, the task is to find the locations and sizes of a known number of faces (usually one). In face detection, one does not have this additional information.
Early face-detection algorithms focused on the detection of frontal human faces, whereas newer algorithms attempt to solve the more general and difficult problem of multi-view face detection. That is, the detection of faces that are either rotated along the axis from the face to the observer (in-plane rotation), or rotated along the vertical or left-right axis (out-of-plane rotation),or both.

A few years ago I became interested in first person shooter games and in particular how the world levels are created and rendered in real time. At the same time I found myself in between jobs and so I embarked on an effort to learn about 3D rendering with the goal of creating my own 3D rendering engine. Since I am a developer and not an artist I didn’t have the skills to create my own models, levels, and textures. So I decided to attempt to write a rendering engine that would render existing game levels. I mainly used information and articles I found on the web about Quake 2, Half Life, WAD and BSP files. In particular I found the Michael Abrash articles that he wrote for Dr. Dobbs magazine while working at Id to be very illuminating.

Guided vehicles (GVs) are commonly used for the internal transportation of loads in warehouses, production plants and terminals. These guided vehicles can be routed with a variety of vehicle dispatching rules in an attempt to meet performance criteria such as minimizing the average load waiting times. In this research, we use simulation models of three companies to evaluate the performance of several real-time vehicle dispatching rules, in part described in the literature. It appears that there
is a clear difference in average load waiting time between the different dispatching rules in the different environments. Simple rules, based on load and vehicle proximity (distance-based) perform best for all cases. The penalty for this is a relatively high maximum load waiting time. A distance-based rule with time truncation, giving more priority to loads that have to wait longer than a time threshold, appears to yield the best possible overall performance. A rule that particularly considers load-waiting time performs poor overall. We also show that using little pre-arrival information of loads leads to a significant improvement in the performance of the dispatching rules without changing their performance ranking.

The genesis for this book was my involvement with the development of the
SystemView (now SystemVue) simulation program at Elanix, Inc. Over several
years of development, technical support, and seminars, several issues kept recur-
ring. One common question was, “How do you simulate (such and such)?” The sec-
ond set of issues was based on modern communication systems, and why particular
developers did what they did. This book is an attempt to gather these issues into a
single comprehensive source.

This book is about multipoint cooperative communication, a key technology to
overcome the long-standing problem of limited transmission rate caused by inter-
point interference. However, the multipoint cooperative communication is not an
isolated technology. Instead, it covers a vast range of research areas such as the
multiple-input multiple-outputsystem, the relay network, channel state information
issues, inter-point radio resource management operations, coordinated or joint
transmissions, etc. We suppose that any attempt trying to thoroughly analyze the
multipoint cooperative communication technology might end up working on a
cyclopedia for modern communication systems and easily get lost in discussing all
kinds of cooperative communication schemes as well as the associated models and
their variations.
