linux filesystem bootdisk-howto.This document describes how to design and build boot/root diskettes for Linux. These disks can be used as
rescue disks or to test new system components. You should be reasonably familiar with system
administration tasks before attempting to build a bootdisk. If you just want a rescue disk to have for
emergencies,
Testbenches have become an integral part of the design process, enabling you to verify that your HDL model is sufficiently tested before implementing your design and helping you automate the design verification process. It is essential, therefore, that you have confidence your testbench is thoroughly exercising your design. Collecting code coverage statistics during simulation helps to ensure the quality and thoroughness of your tests.
This a small hack I wrote to bypass the "No previous installation!" error of Microchip s C18 Upgrade.
Simply run C18Fake and select your C18 installation directory (create if necessary) and click Save button. A "fake" file will now be created into that directory, and this will fool the Upgrade into thinking you already have a former legit installation.
After that you run the C18 Upgrade setup and select the same directory you created/selected before.
Your installation will now begin installing the full C18 package.
We have a group of N items (represented by integers from 1 to N), and we know that there is some total order defined for these items. You may assume that no two elements will be equal (for all a, b: a<b or b<a). However, it is expensive to compare two items. Your task is to make a number of comparisons, and then output the sorted order. The cost of determining if a < b is given by the bth integer of element a of costs (space delimited), which is the same as the ath integer of element b. Naturally, you will be judged on the total cost of the comparisons you make before outputting the sorted order. If your order is incorrect, you will receive a 0. Otherwise, your score will be opt/cost, where opt is the best cost anyone has achieved and cost is the total cost of the comparisons you make (so your score for a test case will be between 0 and 1). Your score for the problem will simply be the sum of your scores for the individual test cases.
You know the rudiments of the SQL query language, yet you feel you aren t taking full advantage of SQL s expressive power. You d like to learn how to do more work with SQL inside the database before pushing data across the network to your applications. You d like to take your SQL skills to the next level.

From helping to assess the value of new medical treatments to evaluating the
factors that affect our opinions and behaviors, analysts today are finding
myriad uses for categorical data methods. In this book we introduce these
methods and the theory behind them.
Statistical methods for categorical responses were late in gaining the level
of sophistication achieved early in the twentieth century by methods for
continuous responses. Despite influential work around 1900 by the British
statistician Karl Pearson, relatively little development of models for categorical
responses occurred until the 1960s. In this book we describe the early
fundamental work that still has importance today but place primary emphasis
on more recent modeling approaches. before outlining
