The LM158 series consists of two independent, high gain,
internally frequency compensated operational amplifiers
which were designed specifically to operate from a single
power supply over a wide range of voltages. Operation from
split power supplies is also possible and the low power
supply current drain is independent of the magnitude of the
power supply voltage.

Abstract: This reference design provides design ideas for a cost-effective, low-power liquid-level measurement dataacquisition system (DAS) using a compensated silicon pressure sensor and a high-precision delta-sigma ADC. Thisdocument discusses how to select the compensated silicon pressure sensor, suggest system algorithms, and providenoise analyses. It also describes calibration ideas to improve system performance while also reducing complexity andcost.
Carrier-phase synchronization can be approached in a
general manner by estimating the multiplicative distortion (MD) to which
a baseband received signal in an RF or coherent optical transmission
system is subjected. This paper presents a unified modeling and
estimation of the MD in finite-alphabet digital communication systems. A
simple form of MD is the camer phase exp GO) which has to be estimated
and compensated for in a coherent receiver. A more general case with
fading must, however, allow for amplitude as well as phase variations of
the MD.
We assume a state-variable model for the MD and generally obtain a
nonlinear estimation problem with additional randomly-varying system
parameters such as received signal power, frequency offset, and Doppler
spread. An extended Kalman filter is then applied as a near-optimal
solution to the adaptive MD and channel parameter estimation problem.
Examples are given to show the use and some advantages of this scheme.

In engineering, compensation is planning for side effects or other unintended issues in a design. The design of an invention can itself also be to compensate for some other existing issue or exception.
One example is in a voltage-controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO), which is normally affected not only by voltage, but to a lesser extent by temperature. A temperature-compensated version (a TCVCXO) is designed so that heat buildup within the enclosure of a transmitter or other such device will not alter the piezoelectric effect, thereby causing frequency drift.
Another example is motion compensation on digital cameras and video cameras, which keep a picture steady and not blurry.
This software is developed to provide ease with controller design. For PID control, options are given
to design and analyse the compensated and uncompensated system. You are free to choice among Proportional
PI, PD and PID mode of control. Both frequency and time domain characteristics can be observed. Special
Menus are given to observe time and frequency response plots. For Statefeedback controller similar options
are given. But this is limited to second order system only.
The AP2406 is a 1.5Mhz constant frequency, slope compensated current mode PWM step-down converter. The device integrates a main switch and a synchronous rectifier for high efficiency without an external Schottky diode. It is ideal for powering portable equipment that runs from a single cell lithium-Ion (Li+) battery. The AP2406 can supply 600mA of load current from a 2.5V to 5.5V input voltage. The output voltage can be regulated as low as 0.6V. The AP2406 can also run at 100% duty cycle for low dropout operation, extending battery life in portable system. Idle mode operation at light loads provides very low output ripple voltage for noise sensitive applications.
The AP2406 is offered in a low profile (1mm) 5-pin, thin SOT package, and is available in an adjustable version and fixed output voltage of 1.2V, 1.5V and 1.8V
This paper presents a Hidden Markov Model (HMM)-based speech
enhancement method, aiming at reducing non-stationary noise from speech
signals. The system is based on the assumption that the speech and the noise
are additive and uncorrelated. Cepstral features are used to extract statistical
information from both the speech and the noise. A-priori statistical
information is collected from long training sequences into ergodic hidden
Markov models. Given the ergodic models for the speech and the noise, a
compensated speech-noise model is created by means of parallel model
combination, using a log-normal approximation. During the compensation, the
mean of every mixture in the speech and noise model is stored. The stored
means are then used in the enhancement process to create the most likely
speech and noise power spectral distributions using the forward algorithm
combined with mixture probability. The distributions are used to generate a
Wiener filter for every observation. The paper includes a performance
evaluation of the speech enhancer for stationary as well as non-stationary
noise environment.
