Computes BER v EbNo curve for convolutional encoding / soft decision
Viterbi decoding scheme assuming BPSK.
Brute force Monte Carlo approach is unsatisfactory (takes too long)
to find the BER curve.
The computation uses a quasi-analytic (QA) technique that relies on the
estimation (approximate one) of the information-bits Weight Enumerating
Function (WEF) using
A simulation of the convolutional encoder. Once the WEF is estimated, the analytic formula for the BER is used.
The program md.f implements a simple molecular dynamics simulation in continuous real space. The velocity Verlet algorithm is used to implement the time stepping. The force and energy computations are performed in parallel, as is the time integration. (The program uses some Fortran90 features, so an F90 compiler may be needed.)
Tricks of the Windows Game Programmin Gurus, 2E takes the reader through Win32 programming, covering all the major components of DirectX including DirectDraw, DirectSound, DirectInput (including force Feedback), and DirectMusic. Andre teaches the reader 2D graphics and rasterization techniques. Finally, Andre provides the most intense coverage of game algorithms, multithreaded programming, artificial intelligence (including fuzzy logic, neural nets, and genetic algorithms), and physics modeling you have ever seen in a game book.
A certification path is an ordered list of certificates starting with a certificate issued by the relying
party s trust root, and ending with the target certificate that needs to be validated. Certification
path validation procedures are based on the algorithm supplied in ITU-T Recommendation X.509
and further defined in Internet Engineering Task force (IETF) Request for Comments (RFC)
3280. Certification path processing verifies the binding between the subject distinguished name
and/or subject alternative name and the subject public key defined in the target certificate. The
binding is limited by constraints, which are specified in the certificates that comprise the path,
and inputs that are specified by the relying party. To ensure secure interoperation of PKI-enabled
applications, the path validation must be done in accordance with the X.509 and RFC 3280
specifications. This document provides the test assertions and the test cases for testing path
validation software against these specifications.
The software and hardware development fields evolved along separate paths through the end of the 20th century. We seem to have come full circle, however. The previously rigid hardware on which our programs run is softening in many ways. Embedded systems are largely responsible for this softening. These hidden computing systems drive the electronic products around us, including consumer products like digital cameras and personal digital assistants, office automation equipment like copy machines and printers, medical devices like heart monitors and ventilators, and automotive electronics like cruise controls and antilock brakes.
Embedded systems force designers to work under incredibly tight time-tomarket, power consumption, size, performance, flexibility, and cost constraints.
Many technologies introduced over the past two decades have sought to help satisfy these constraints. To understand these technologies, it is important to first distinguish the underlying embedded systems elements.
Parallel robotic manipulators can be considered a well-established option
for many different applications of manipulation, machining, guiding,
testing, control, tracking, haptic force feed-back, etc. A typical parallel robotic
manipulator (PM) consists of a mobile platform connected to the
base (fixed platform) by at least two kinematic chains called limbs. The
mobile platform can achieve between one and three independent translations
(T) and one to three independent rotations (R).
PseudoQ is an open source java application for creating, playing and solving SuDoku puzzles of various types. It features both a Swing GUI and command-line operation. The automatic solving of puzzles uses "smart" techniques rather than a brute force search of every possible combination.
