This project features a full-hardware sound compressor using the well known algorithm: IMA ADPCM.
The core acts as a slave WISHBONE device.
The output is perfectly compatible with any sound player with the IMA ADPCM codec (included by default in every Windows). Includes a testbench that takes an uncompressed PCM 16 bits Mono WAV file and outputs an IMA ADPCM compressed WAV file.
Compression ratio is fixed for IMA-ADPCM, being 4:1.

KVM (for Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is a full virtualization solution for Linux on x86 hardware. It consists of a loadable kernel module (kvm.ko) and a userspace component.
Using KVM, one can run multiple virtual machines running unmodified Linux or Windows images. Each virtual machine has private virtualized hardware: a network card, disk, graphics adapter, etc.
The kernel component of KVM is included in mainline Linux, and will appear in Linux 2.6.20.
KVM is open source software.
DirectX not only provides fast access to the hardware and therefore incredibly speedy performance, but it also makes it much easier for hardware developers to produce new devices that work well in the Windows environment. The LPC1700 Ethernet block contains a full featured 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps Ethernet MAC (Media Access Controller) designed to provide optimized performance through the use of DMA hardware acceleration. The CAT25128 is a 128−Kb Serial CMOS EEPROM device internally organized as 16Kx8 bits. This features a 64−byte page write buffer and supports the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) protocol. The device is enabled through a Chip Select (CS) input. In addition, the required bus signals are clock input (SCK), data input (SI) and data output (SO) lines. The HOLD input may be used to pause any serial communication with the CAT25128 device. The device featuressoftware and hardware write protection, including partial as well as full array protection.
