It all started rather innocuously. I walked into Dr GT Murthy’s office one fine day, andchanged my life. “Doc” was then the General Manager, Central R&D, of a very largeelectrical company headquartered in Bombay. In his new state-of-the-art electronics center,he had hand-picked some of India’s best engineers (over a hundred already) ever assembledunder one roof. Luckily, he too was originally a Physicist, and that certainly helped me gainsome empathy. Nowadays he is in retirement, but I will always remember him as athoroughly fair, honest and facts-oriented person, who led by example. There were severalthings I absorbed from him that are very much part of my basic engineering persona today.You can certainly look upon this book as an extension of what Doc started many years agoin India … because that’s what it really is! I certainly wouldn’t be here today if I hadn’t metDoc. And in fact, several of the brash, high-flying managers I’ve met in recent years,desperately need some sort of crash course in technology and human values from Doc!

【摘要】：隨著USB接口在計算機業(yè)界應用越來越廣泛，基于USB的接口開發(fā)顯得越來越具有現(xiàn)實意義。隨著客戶對系統(tǒng)數(shù)據(jù)采集速度要求的不斷提高，USB以其使用方便、易于擴展、速度快等優(yōu)點而越來越多的被應用于各種人機接口設(shè)備中。本設(shè)計提出了一種USB接口的HID數(shù)據(jù)通訊接口設(shè)計方案，USB接口芯片采用的是PHILIP的PDIUSBD12，微控器是宏晶科技的STC89C52RC。該方案具有器件通用、成本低、方便焊接調(diào)試等特點。由于本設(shè)計采用了PDIUSBD12接口芯片，通過改變微控器的代碼可以制作成各種標準的USB設(shè)備。本設(shè)計完成了一種典型的HID設(shè)備驅(qū)動程序的開發(fā)，PC機無需額外加裝驅(qū)動便可實現(xiàn)和USB設(shè)備之間的通訊。而且經(jīng)過典型HID設(shè)備的枚舉過程，還可用于對USB協(xié)議的熟悉和學習。上位機軟件部分，采用了VisualC++6.0編寫HID設(shè)備的控制程序，此控制程序和HID下位機設(shè)備構(gòu)成了完整的USB控制系統(tǒng)。在此基礎(chǔ)上，本設(shè)計還增加了簡單的音樂播放功能，可以打開并播放格式為mp3和wma的音頻文件，還可以暫停、停止、選擇播放曲目、調(diào)節(jié)音量等；在音頻播放時HID設(shè)備彩燈可以實時顯示音頻的頻譜。這在驗證USB系統(tǒng)的同時，大大增加了控制的趣味性。驗證結(jié)果表明按照該方案設(shè)計的數(shù)據(jù)通訊接口和HID設(shè)計運行穩(wěn)定可靠。USB是一種計算機和外部設(shè)備進行通訊連接的接口.USB的出現(xiàn)的目的是取代現(xiàn)在計算機接口，簡化計算機與外部設(shè)備的連接過程，使計算機的擴展更加方便。它使得計算機和外部設(shè)備的連接十分方便。目前，各種計算機外部設(shè)備都在逐漸改為USB接口，USB技術(shù)的出現(xiàn)是計算機接口技術(shù)的一大飛躍。越來越多的測控系統(tǒng)、信號處理系統(tǒng)和智能儀器選用USB接口與PC機進行高速、海量的數(shù)據(jù)通訊。但是，相對UART（通用異步串口）、LPT（打印機并行端口），USB的開發(fā)難度要大的多。采用HID（Human Interface Device，人機接口設(shè)備）的設(shè)計方案則可以很好的解決這一矛盾。

HID 型概述第一個被windows支持的usb外圍設(shè)備類是人機接口設(shè)備。hid是human interface device人機接口設(shè)備的英文縮寫。是指直接和人進行互動的設(shè)備。如鼠標、鍵盤等。運行在WINDOWS98或其他更高的版本的操作系統(tǒng)的PC機，系統(tǒng)除了提供通用的USB設(shè)備的底層驅(qū)動以外，還單獨提供了一些HID設(shè)備的完整驅(qū)動，應用程序可以很容易的與操作系統(tǒng)內(nèi)部的hid通訊。這樣使得符合hid類的USB設(shè)備很容易開發(fā)與運行。也就是說，我們?nèi)绻雽崿F(xiàn)一個USB的HID類設(shè)備，是不需要在Windows下開發(fā)自己的驅(qū)動程序，HID不一定要是標準的外設(shè)類型，唯一的要求是交換的數(shù)據(jù)存儲在報文的結(jié)構(gòu)內(nèi)，設(shè)備固件必須支持報文的格式。任何工作在該限制之內(nèi)的設(shè)備都可以成為一個hid，例如溫度計，電壓計，讀卡機等。hid類設(shè)備只能使用控制傳輸與中斷傳輸兩種方式。HID的交換的數(shù)據(jù)格式稱為報文。報文形式靈活，能處理任何類型的數(shù)據(jù)。HID特有的請求，Set Report和Get Report為主機和設(shè)備之間的任何類型數(shù)據(jù)塊傳輸提供了一種方法。主機發(fā)出Get Report請求，設(shè)備響應向主機傳送數(shù)據(jù)塊；主機發(fā)出Set Report請求，設(shè)備響應準備接收主機發(fā)出的數(shù)據(jù)塊。對于一個全速設(shè)備，中斷傳輸方式下每筆事務能夠傳送的最大數(shù)據(jù)量是64字節(jié)，全速設(shè)備每毫秒不能有超過一筆事務，所以每秒最多傳送64000字節(jié)。高速設(shè)備，每筆事務能夠傳送的最大數(shù)據(jù)量是1024字節(jié)。對于不能一次傳輸完畢的數(shù)據(jù)，接收和發(fā)送報文可以采用多筆事務。下表列舉出了與HID類設(shè)備通信過程中使用到的大量函數(shù)，這些函數(shù)的用法在DDK的幫助文檔中均有詳細地解釋。這些函數(shù)包含在Hid.dll，Setupapi.dl、Kernel32.dll三個動態(tài)鏈接庫中，分別起到與HID設(shè)備通訊，尋找與識別設(shè)備，交換數(shù)據(jù)的作用。
