Third Generation (3G) mobile offers access to broadband multimedia services - and in the future most of these, even voice and video, will be IP-based. However 3G networks are not based on IP technologies, rather they are an evolution from existing 2G networks. Much work needs to be done to IP QoS and mobility protocols and architectures for them to be able to provide the functionality 3G requires.
This package provides a complete http client library. It currently implements most of the relevant parts of the HTTP/1.0 and HTTP/1.1 protocols, including the request methods HEAD, GET, POST and PUT, and automatic handling of authorization, redirection requests, and cookies. Furthermore the included Codecs class contains coders and decoders for the base64, quoted-printable, URL-encoding, chunked and the multipart/form-data encodings. The whole thing is free, and licenced under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) (note that this is not the same as the GPL).
A Module-based Wireless Node (MW-Node) is a Node with wireless and mobile capabilities added by means of modules. It is not a new node object derived from Node. Rather it is a new layout of mostly existing components. Rationale for this new design has been presented in [1]. The MW-Node provides a flexible support for wireless and mobile networking and in particular:
support for multiple interfaces/multiple channels, and
a common basis for the implementation of wireless routing protocols.
