The PCA9674/74A is a drop-in upgrade for the PCF8574/74A providing higher Fast-modePlus I2C-bus speeds (1 MHz versus 400 kHz) so that the output can support PWMdimming of LEDs, higher I2C-bus drive (30 mA versus 3 mA) so that many more devicescan be on the bus without the need for bus buffers, higher total package sink capacity(200 mA versus 100 mA) that supports having all LEDs on at the same time and moredevice addresses (64 versus 8) are available to allow many more devices on the buswithout address conflicts.

This paper presents several low-latency mixed-timing
FIFO (first-in–first-out) interfaces designs that interface systems
on a chip working at different speeds. The connected systems
can be either synchronous or asynchronous. The designs are then
adapted to work between systems with very long interconnect
delays, by migrating a single-clock solution by Carloni et al.
(1999, 2000, and 2001) (for “latency-insensitive” protocols) to
mixed-timing domains. The new designs can be made arbitrarily
robust with regard to metastability and interface operating speeds.
Initial simulations for both latency and throughput are promising.

Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) have proven they can substantially improve fuel economy and reduce emissions. Because HEVs combine an electric drive with the internal combustion engine (ICE) in the powertrain, the vehicle?s kinetic energy can be captured during braking and transformed into electrical energy in the battery. The dual power source also means that the ICE can be reduced in size and can operate at its most efficient speeds.
RS232.C was written to provide all of the basic functionality needed
to employ serial I/O in any application written with Borland C
language compilers. Some features are:
1. Ease of use. No assembly language or library files are used and a simple "#include" statement is all that is required to access all of the functions provided.
2. Both input and output are buffered and interrupt driven for efficiency.
3. Serial ports 1 - 4 are supported on PC, AT and PS/2 compatibles.Chained interrupts used on port 3 and 4 are allowed for so as not to interfere with devices such as a mouse or printer. Transmission speeds of 110 to 115200 baud are available.
4. Detection and utilization of hardware buffered UARTs (NS16550AF
etc.) found in some machines is automatic.
5. Interrupt driven hardware and XON/XOFF flow control is provided for.
6. All source code is included. RS232.C can be used with all memory
models.
One traditional view of how wireless networks evolve is of a continuous, inevitable progres-
sion to higher link speeds, combined with greater mobility over wider areas. This standpoint
certainly captures the development from first and second generation cellular systems focused
on voice support, and the early short-range wireless data networks, through to today’s 3G
cellular and mobile broadband systems; there is every confidence that the trend will continue
some way into the future.

on system reliability and performance combined with miniaturization of the
devices, thermal consideration has become a crucial factor in the design of elec-
tronic packages, from chip to system levels.

the systems that contain them, and the manufacturing facilities used to
