This volume presents the state of the art concerning quality and interestingness measures for data mining. The book summarizes recent developments and presents original research on this topic. The chapters include surveys, comparative studies of existing measures, proposals of new measures, simulations, and case studies. Both theoretical and applied chapters are included. Papers for this book were selected and reviewed for correctness and completeness by an international review committee.
The STi7105 uses state of the art process
technology to provide an ultra low-cost, fully
featured HD AVC decoder IC. It is a highly
integrated system-on-chip suitable for STB markets across all networks (cable/satellite/DTT/x-
DSL/IP) worldwide
observable distribution grid are investigated. A distribution
grid is observable if the state of the grid can be fully determined.
For the simulations, the modified 34-bus IEEE test feeder is used.
The measurements needed for the state estimation are generated
by the ladder iterative technique. Two methods for the state
estimation are analyzed: Weighted Least Squares and Extended
Kalman Filter. Both estimators try to find the most probable
state based on the available measurements. The result is that
the Kalman filter mostly needs less iterations and calculation
time. The disadvantage of the Kalman filter is that it needs some
foreknowlegde about the state.
The use of FPGAs for cryptographic applications is highly attractive for a variety of reasons but at the same time there are many open issues related to the general security of FPGAs. This contribution attempts to provide a state-of-the-art description of this topic. First, the advantages of reconfigurable hardware for cryptographic applications are discussed from a systems perspective. Second, potential security problems of FPGAs are described in detail, followed by a proposal of a some countermeasure. Third, a list of open research problems is provided. Even though there have been many contributions dealing with the algorithmic
aspects of cryptographic schemes implemented on FPGAs, this contribution appears to be the first comprehensive treatment of system and security aspects.
The software implements particle filtering and Rao Blackwellised particle filtering for conditionally Gaussian Models. The RB algorithm can be interpreted as an efficient stochastic mixture of Kalman filters. The software also includes efficient state-of-the-art resampling routines. These are generic and suitable for any application.
