This directory builds the Tape class driver for Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003. The class driver implements device-independent support, and exports support routines for device-specific tape miniclass drivers. It handles device-independent tape requests and calls the tape minidriver routines to process device-specific functions. Class driver splits transfer requests, when necessary, to fit the maximum transfer size for the underlyIng host bus adapter. It also provides device-independent, tape-specific error handling, and calls the tape miniclass driver s device-specific error handling routines.
The Microsoft® Cryptographic Application Programming Interface (CryptoAPI) provides services that enable application developers to add authentication, encoding, and encryption to their Microsoft Win32® -based applications. This standard describes a keyed-hash message authentication code (HMAC), a
mechanism for message authentication using cryptographic hash functions. HMAC can
be used with any iterative Approved cryptographic hash function, in combination with a
shared secret key. The cryptographic strength of HMAC depends on the properties of the
underlyIng hash function. The HMAC specification in this standard is a generalization of
Internet RFC 2104, HMAC, Keyed-Hashing for Message Authentication, and ANSI
X9.71, Keyed Hash Message Authentication Code.
