The Viterbi algorithm is the same as the binary case with one main difference: The survivor sequences include the uncoded bits, which are decided at each trellis stage when selecting one of two parallel branches with the largest correlation metric.
Presently, only 8-PSK modulation is considered. Extensions to higher-order modulations can be implemented following a similar procedure.

This application report introduces and describes an MP3 /AAC audio player for use with the TMS320C54x(TM) digital signal processor (DSP) devices. This audio player is based on Reference Framework Level 3 (RF3). Reference Framework for eXpressDSP(TM) Software is a start-ware for developing applications that use DSP/BIOS(TM) and the TMS320(TM) DSP AlgorithmStandard.
The program was written with some object-orientation in mind, which means that all functions that operate on a certain structure, has the structure s name as prefix in the function name, for example "Bitstream_get" which gets bits from a bitstream structure.
Most code samples included on this CD were developed with Microsoft Visual C++ version 5.0 and the Microsoft Windows CE Toolkit for Visual C++ version 5.0. The Sspi and Crypto samples were developed with Microsoft Visual C++ version 6.0 and the Microsoft Windows CE Toolkit for Visual C++ 6.0. The code in sample applications is ported for a Handheld PC, but the programming concepts that are presented apply to all Windows CE-based platforms.
