IntroductionAs chip designers pack more Functions into ICs,pin counts continue to grow and the space betweenpins keeps shrinking. Pin spacings of 0.5 mm and0.65 mm are not at all uncommon. The power ofthese new ICs is wonderful, to be sure, but trou-bleshooting them can be a chore because connect-ing scopes and logic analyzers has become muchmore difficult and less dependable.

The 78K0R/IC3 is a 16-bit single-chip microcontroller that uses a 78K0R CPU core and incorporates peripheral Functions, such as ROM/RAM, a multi-function timer, a multi-function serial interface, an A/D converter, a programmable gain amplifier (PGA), a comparator, a real-time counter, and a watchdog timer.
The CAT823, CAT824, and CAT825 provide basic reset and monitoring Functions for the electronic systems. Each device monitors the system voltage and maintains a reset output until that voltage reaches the device’s specified trip value and then maintains the reset output active condition until the device’s internal timer, after a minimum timer of 140ms; toallow the systems power supply to stabilize.

The C500 microcontroller family usually provides only one on-chip synchronous serialchannel (SSC). If a second SSC is required, an emulation of the missing interface mayhelp to avoid an external hardware solution with additional electronic components.The solution presented in this paper and in the attached source files emulates the mostimportant SSC Functions by using optimized SW routines with a performance up to 25KBaud in Slave Mode with half duplex transmission and an overhead less than 60% atSAB C513 with 12 MHz. Due to the implementation in C this performance is not the limitof the chip. A pure implementation in assembler will result in a strong reduction of theCPU load and therefore increase the maximum speed of the interface. In addition,microcontrollers like the SAB C505 will speed up the interface by a factor of two becauseof an optimized architecture compared with the SAB C513.Moreover, this solution lays stress on using as few on-chip hardware resources aspossible. A more excessive consumption of those resources will result in a highermaximum speed of the emulated interface.Due to the restricted performance of an 8 bit microcontroller a pin compatible solution isprovided only; the internal register based programming interface is replaced by a set ofsubroutine calls.The attached source files also contain a test shell, which demonstrates how to exchangeinformation between an on-chip HW-SSC and the emulated SW-SSC via 5 external wiresin different operation modes. It is based on the SAB C513 (Siemens 8 bit microcontroller).A table with load measurements is presented to give an indication for the fraction of CPUperformance required by software for emulating the SSC.
The solution presented in this paper and in the attached source files emulates the mostimportant SSC Functions by using SW routines implemented in C. The code is focused onthe SAB C513, but will fit to all C500 derivatives.Beyond the low level software drivers a test shell is delivered. This shell allows a quicktest of the software drivers by an emulator or a starter kit demo board.
The P90CL301 is a highly integrated 16/32 bit micro-controller especially suitable for applications requiring lowvoltage and low power consumption. It is fully software compatible with the 68000. Furthermore, it provides bothstandard as well as advanced peripheral Functions on-chip.One of these peripheral Functions is the I2C bus. This report describes worked-out driver software (written in C) toprogram the P90CL301 I2C interface. It also contains interface software routines offering the user a quick start inwriting a complete I2C system application.
The XA-S3 is a member of Philips Semiconductors’ XA (eXtended Architecture) family of high performance 16-bit single-chip Microcontrollers. The XA-S3 combines many powerful peripherals on one chip. Therefore, it is suited for general multipurpose high performance embedded control Functions.One of the on-chip peripherals is the I2C bus interface. This report describes worked-out driver software (written in C) to program / use the I2C interface of the XA-S3. The driver software, together with a demo program and interface software routines offer the user a quick start in writing a complete I2C - XAS3 system application.
The 87C576 includes two separate methods of programming theEPROM array, the traditional modified Quick-Pulse method, and anew On-Board Programming technique (OBP).Quick Pulse programming is a method using a number of devicepins in parallel (see Figure 1) and is the traditional way in which87C51 family members have been programmed. The Quick-Pulsemethod supports the following programming Functions:– program USER EPROM– verify USER EPROM– program KEY EPROM– program security bits– verify security bits– read signature bytesThe Quick-Pulse method is quite easily suited to standardprogramming equipment as evidenced by the numerous vendors of87C51 compatible programmers on the market today. Onedisadvantage is that this method is not well suited to programming inthe embedded application because of the large number of signallines that must be isolated from the application. In addition, parallelsignals from a programmer would need to be cabled to theapplication’s circuit board, or the application circuit board wouldneed to have logic built-in to perform the programming Functions.These requirements have generally made in-circuit programmingusing the modified Quick Pulse method impractical in almost all87C51 family applications.

A central control system applied to an ATV vehicle weapons is designed. The system design is based on TMS320F2812 DSP as the core， uses modular design for its hardware parts. The central control system can complete the motion control of the level of weapons and equipment， rotation direction， to achieve a state of static or moving objects on the target ranging， auto-targeting and according to the established target and the projectile and the launch of the security performance testing and other Functions. Through the development of appropriate software and to carry out system testing to verify the stability of this design and operation.
