In an electromagnetic cloak based on a transformation approach, reduced sets of
material properties are generally favored due to their easier implementation in Reality,
although a seemingly inevitable drawback of undesired reflection exists in such cloaks.
Here we suggest using high-order transformations to create smooth moduli at the outer
boundary of the cloak, therefore completely eliminating the detrimental scattering
within the limit of geometric optics. We apply this scheme to a non-magnetic
cylindrical cloak and demonstrate that the scattered field is reduced substantially in a
cloak with optimal quadratic transformation as compared to its linear counterpart.

VideoMan (Video Manager) is an open-source C++ library that helps you developing video based applications. We created VideoMan to increase our productivity developing computer vision applications, but it can be used in many other ways.
With VideoMan is very easy and fast to initialize any kind of video input like webcams, video files, frame grabbers, IEEE 1394 cameras and so on. You can initialize multiple inputs at the same time and show them in the screen. Also, you can show the results of the processing steps of your computer vision algorithm (extracted edges, back projections, detected blobs...) This way you can see the results of what are you coding, checking the results of your algorithm steps. Moreover, the implemented visualization scheme make easier to combine computer graphics with video, for example to show a 3d model on top of video for augmented Reality applications.

A decade ago, I first wrote that people moved, and networks needed to adapt to the
Reality that people worked on the go. Of course, in those days, wireless LANs came
with a trade-off. Yes, you could use them while moving, but you had to trade a great
deal of throughput to get the mobility. Although it was possible to get bits anywhere,
even while in motion, those bits came slower. As one of the network engineers I worked
with put it, “We’ve installed switched gigabit Ethernet everywhere on campus, so I
don’t understand why you’d want to go back to what is a 25-megabit hub.” He un-
derestimated the allure of working on the go.
