CC386 is a general-purpose 32-bit C compiler. It is not an optimizing compiler but given that the code generation is fairly good. There are two versions one is for MSDOS/DPMI and one is for Win32. The Win32 version has a full-blown IDE capable of editing, building, and debugging windows programs included with it. However at this time debugging support for MSDOS is rudimentary at best and there is no IDE for DOS. the newest version, support windows.

This m-file displays the time waveform for the Gaussian pulse function and the first and second derivatives of the Gaussian pulse function for a 0.5 nanosecond pulse width. Other values of pulse widths may be used by changing fs,t,t1. The program uses the actual first and second derivative equations for the Gaussian pulse waveforms. The first derivative is considered to be the monocycle or monopulse as discussed in most papers. The second derivative is the waveform generated from a dipole antenna used in a UWB system. Other information is contained in the file.

If uisp does not compile successfully, add switch -DNO_DIRECT_IO in the Makefile to remove support for direct I/O port access (that may be necessary on non-PC architectures). Parallel port access should still work if you have the Linux ppdev driver (patch for 2.2.17 is in the kernel directory, ppdev is standard in 2.4 kernels). Please lobby Alan Cox to include this tiny little driver in 2.2.x too :).
