Accurate pose estimation plays an important role in solution of simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) problem, required for many robotic applications. This paper presents a new approach called R-SLAM, primarily to overcome systematic and non-systematic odometry errors which are generally caused by uneven floors, unexpected objects on the floor or wheel-slippage due to skidding or fast turns.The hybrid approach presented here combines the strengths of feature based and grid based methods to produce globally consistent high resolution maps within various types of environments.
The term economics is generally understood to mean sound

through satisfactory standards of good practice in relation to investors
and the clients who have placed their trust in an organization’s

revolutionized the way we communicate by making services like telephony and Internet
access available anytime and from almost anywhere. Today, a great variety of technical
publications offer background information about these technologies but they all fall
short in one way or another. Books covering these technologies usually describe only
one of the systems in detail and are generally too complex as a first introduction. The
Internet is also a good source, but the articles one finds are usually too short and super-
ficial or only deal with a specific mechanism of one of the systems. For this reason, it
was difficult for me to recommend a single publication to students in my telecommunication
classes, which I have been teaching in addition to my work in the wireless telecommunication
industry. This book aims to change this.
Fundamentals of WiMAX was consciously written to appeal to a broad audience, and to be of
value to anyone who is interested in the IEEE 802.16e standards or wireless broadband networks
more generally. The book contains cutting-edge tutorials on the technical and theoretical under-
pinnings to WiMAX that are not available anywhere else, while also providing high-level over-
views that will be informative to the casual reader.

This books attempts to provide an extensive overview on Long-Term Evolution
(LTE) networks. Understanding LTE and its Performance is purposely written to
appeal to a broad audience and to be of value to anyone who is interested in 3GPP
LTE or wireless broadband networks more generally. The aim of this book is to
offer comprehensive coverage of current state-of-the-art theoretical and techno-
logical aspects of broadband mobile and wireless networks focusing on LTE. The
presentation starts from basic principles and proceeds smoothly to most advanced
topics. Provided schemes are developed and oriented in the context of very actual
closed standards, the 3 GPPP LTE.
There exist two essentially different approaches to the study of dynamical systems, based on
the following distinction:
time-continuous nonlinear differential equations ? time-discrete maps
One approach starts from time-continuous differential equations and leads to time-discrete
maps, which are obtained from them by a suitable discretization of time. This path is
pursued, e.g., in the book by Strogatz [Str94]. 1 The other approach starts from the study of
time-discrete maps and then gradually builds up to time-continuous differential equations,
see, e.g., [Ott93, All97, Dev89, Has03, Rob95]. After a short motivation in terms of nonlinear
differential equations, for the rest of this course we shall follow the latter route to dynamical
systems theory. This allows a generally more simple way of introducing the important
concepts, which can usually be carried over to a more complex and physically realistic
context.
This Section covers the design of power transformers used in buck-derived topologies: forward converter, bridge, half-bridge, and full-wave centertap. Flyback transformers (actually coupled inductors) are covered in a later Section. For more specialized applications, the principles discussed herein will generally apply.
