One of the key fac-ors in enhancing the robustness of dynamic scene analy-sis that of accurate and reliable means for shadow de-ection. Shadowdetectioniscriticalforcorrectobjectde-ection in image sequences. Many algorithms have beenproposed in the literature that deal with shadows. How-ever,acomparativeevaluationoftheexistingapproachesisstill lacking. In this paper, the full range of problems un-derlyingtheshadowdetectionareidenti?edanddiscussed.Weclassifytheproposedsolutionstothisproblemusingaaxonomyoffourmainclasses, calleddeterministicmodeland non-model based and statistical parametric and non-parametric. Novelquantitative(detectionanddiscrimina-ionaccuracy)andqualitativemetrics(sceneandobjectin-dependence,?exibilitytoshadowsituationsandrobustnesso noise) are proposed to evaluate these classes of algo-rithms on a benchmark suite of indoor and outdoor videosequences.

    This paper presents a visual based localization mechanism for a legged robot. Our proposal, fundamented on a probabilistic approach, uses a precompiled topological map where natural landmarks like doors or ceiling lights are recognized by the robot using its on-board camera. Experiments have been conducted using the AIBO Sony robotic dog showing that it is able to deal with noisy sensors like vision and to approximate world models representing indoor ofce environments. The two major contributions of this work are the use of this technique in legged robots, and the use of an active camera as the main sensor

    Since the principle of multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) was simultaneously proposed by Khaled Fazel et al. and Nathan Yee et al. at the IEEE International Symposium on Personal, indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC) in the year 1993, multi-carrier spread spectrum (MC-SS) has rapidly become one of the most wide spread independent research topics on the field of mobile radio communications. Therefore, the International Workshop on Multi-Carrier Spread Spectrum (MC-SS) was initiated in the year 1997. Multi-carrier and spread spectrum systems with their generic air interface and adaptive technologies are considered as potential candidates to fulfill the requirements of next generation mobile communications systems.

    The use of optical free-space emissions to provide indoor wireless commu- nications has been studied extensively since the pioneering work of Gfeller and Bapst in 1979 [1]. These studies have been invariably interdisciplinary in- volving such far flung areas such as optics design? indoor propagation studies? electronics design? communications systems design among others. The focus of this text is on the design of communications systems for indoor wireless optical channels. Signalling techniques developed for wired fibre optic net- works are seldom efficient since they do not consider the bandwidth restricted nature of the wireless optical channel.

    文章提出了一種基于AT89S51單片機(jī)的智能家居系統(tǒng)的設(shè)計(jì),該系統(tǒng)具有室內(nèi)煤氣以及煙霧的檢測(cè)、家庭室內(nèi)防盜等功能。文章詳細(xì)分析了系統(tǒng)的總體設(shè)計(jì),詳盡分析并設(shè)計(jì)了煤氣傳感器模塊、煙霧傳感器模塊、人體紅外感應(yīng)傳感器模塊、報(bào)警模塊等各硬件部分,并利用PROTUES軟件進(jìn)行了系統(tǒng)仿真。仿真結(jié)果證明:系統(tǒng)具有成本低、效率高、操作方便等優(yōu)點(diǎn),達(dá)到了預(yù)期設(shè)計(jì)的效果。This paper presents the design of an intelligent home system based on AT89S51 microcontroller.The system has the functions of detecting indoor gas and smoke,guarding against theft in the home,and so on.The overall design of the system is analyzed in detail.The gas sensor module,smoke sensor module,human infrared sensor module,alarm module and other hardware parts are analyzed and designed in detail,and the system simulation is carried out using PROTUES software.The simulation results show that the system has the advantages of low cost,high efficiency,convenient operation and so on,and achieves the expected design effect.
