This research project evaluates startup times of the linux boot process from power-on until user login.
Time consuming parts of the boot process are investigated and methods how to speed up the whole
process are discussed.
The goal of SPID is to provide the user with tools capable to simulate, preprocess, process and classify in vivo and ex vivo MRS signals. These tools are embedded in a matlab graphical user interface (GUI). (Pre)processing and classification methods can also be automatically run in a row using the matlab command line
The aqsesGUI software is a software package for processing Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy signals. The software contains methods to load, preprocess and process MRS data.
The widespread use of embedded systems mandates the development of industrial software design methods, i.e. computer-aided design and engineering of embedded applications using formal models (frameworks) and standardized prefabricated components, much in the same way as in other mature areas of engineering such as mechanical engineering and electronics. These guidelines have been used to develop Component-based Design of Software for Embedded Systems (COMDES). The paper gives an overview of the COMDES framework, followed by a presentation of a generic component types, such as function blocks, activities and function units. The execution of function units is discussed in the context of a newly developed execution model, i.e. timed-multitasking, which has been extended to distributed embedded systems.
With the advent of multimedia, digital signal processing (DSP) of sound has emerged from the shadow of bandwidth-limited speech processing. Today, the main appli- cations of audio DSP are high quality audio coding and the digital generation and manipulation of music signals. They share common research topics including percep- tual measurement techniques and analysis/synthesis methods. Smaller but nonetheless very important topics are hearing aids using signal processing technology and hardware architectures for digital signal processing of audio. In all these areas the last decade has seen a significant amount of application oriented research.

Whenever there is an application to write, breaking it up to small pieces is a great idea. The smallest piece of any application would probably be a data object, or a simple Bean in Java. Java Beans are simple Java classes that have a distinctive look and behavior. Their simplest purpose is to contain data and they accomplish this by having properties. Each property is actually a data-member containing/referencing the actual data and a couple of methods, a getter method and a setter method. Thus, the simplest data-bean describing a person could be expressed as such:
The inverse of the gradient function. I ve provided versions that work on 1-d vectors, or 2-d or 3-d arrays. In the 1-d case I offer 5 different methods, from cumtrapz, and an integrated cubic spline, plus several finite difference methods.
In higher dimensions, only a finite difference/linear algebra solution is provided, but it is fully vectorized and fully sparse in its approach. In 2-d and 3-d, if the gradients are inconsistent, then a least squares solution is generated
