A programmable digital signal processor (PDSP) is a special-purpose microProcessor
with specialized architecture and instruction set for implementing DSP
algorithms. Typical architectural features include multiple memory partitions (onchip,
off-chip, data memory, program memory, etc.), multiple (generally pipelined)
arithmetic and logic units (ALUs), nonuniform register sets, and extensive
hardware numeric support [1,2]. Single-chip PDSPs have become increasingly
popular for real-time DSP applications [3,4].
This manual describes SAMSUNG s S3C2410X 16/32-bit RISC microProcessor. This product is designed to
provide hand-held devices and general applications with cost-effective, low-power, and high-performance microcontroller
solution in small die size. To reduce total system cost, the S3C2410X includes the following
components separate 16KB Instruction and 16KB Data Cache, MMU to handle virtual memory management,
LCD Controller (STN & TFT), NAND Flash Boot Loader, System Manager (chip select logic and SDRAM

Abstract: This tutorial discusses methods for digitally adjusting the output voltage of a DC-DC converter. The digital adjustmentmethods are with a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), a trim pot (digital potentiometer), and PWM output of a microProcessor.Each method is assessed and several DACs and digital potentiometers presented.
Abstract: Using a DAC and a microProcessor supervisor, the system safety can be improved in industrial controllers, programmablelogiccontrollers (PLC), and data-acquisition systems. The analog output is set to zero-scale (or pin-programmable midscale) when amicroProcessor failure, optocoupler failure, or undervoltage condition occurs. A simple application is shown on how to implement thisfunction.

Handheld designers often grapple with ways to de-bounceand control the on/off pushbutton of portable devices.Traditional de-bounce designs use discrete logic, fl ipflops, resistors and capacitors. Other designs includean onboard microProcessor and discrete comparatorswhich continuously consume battery power. For highvoltage multicell battery applications, a high voltageLDO is needed to drive the low voltage devices. Providing power for the Pentium® microProcessor family isnot a trivial task by any means. In an effort to simplify thistask we have developed a new switching regulator controlcircuit and a new linear regulator to address the needs ofthese processors. Considerable time has been spent developingan optimized decoupling network. Here are severalcircuits using the new LTC®1266 synchronous buck regulatorcontrol chip and the LT®1584 linear regulator toprovide power for Pentium processors and Pentium VREprocessors. The Pentium processor has a supply requirementof 3.3V ±5%. The Pentium VRE processor requires3.500V ±100mV.
