This submission includes the presentation and model files that were used in delivering a webinar on 12-15-05 that covered the topic of modeling Hybrid Electric Vehicles.
Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) have proven they can substantially improve fuel economy and reduce emissions. Because HEVs combine an electric drive with the internal combustion engine (ICE) in the powertrain, the vehicle?s kinetic energy can be captured during braking and transformed into electrical energy in the battery. The dual power source also means that the ICE can be reduced in size and can operate at its most efficient speeds.

The tca package is a Matlab program that implements the tree-dependent
component analysis (TCA) algorithms that extends the independent
component analysis (ICA), where instead of looking for a linear transform
that makes the data components independent, we are looking for components
that can be best fitted in a tree structured graphical model. The TCA model
can be applied in any situation where the data can be assumed to have been
transformed by an unknown linear transformation.

In almost every standard book on numerics quadrature algorithms like the adaptive Simpson or the adaptive Lobatto algorithm are presented in a recursive way. The benefit of the recursive programming is the compact and clear representation. However, recursive quadrature algorithms might be transformed into iterative quadrature algorithms without major modifications in the structure of the algorithm.
We present iterative adaptive quadrature algorithm (adaptiveSimpson and adaptiveLobatto), which preserves the compactness and the clarity of the recursive algorithms (e.g. quad, quadv, and quadl). Our iterative algorithm provides a parallel calculation of the integration function, which leads to tremendous gain in run-time, in general. Our results suggest a general iterative and not a recursive implementation of adaptive quadrature formulas, once the programming language permits parallel access to the integration function. In recent years, cellular voice networks have transformed into powerful packet-switched
access networks for both voice communication and Internet access. Evolving Universal
Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) networks and first Long Term Evolution
(LTE) installations now deliver bandwidths of several megabits per second to individual
users, and mobile access to the Internet from handheld devices and notebooks is no
longer perceived as slower than a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) or cable connection.
Bandwidth and capacity demands, however, keep rising because of the increasing number
of people using the networks and because of bandwidth-intensive applications such as
video streaming. Thus, network manufacturers and network operators need to find ways
to continuously increase the capacity and performance of their cellular networks while
reducing the cost.

Digital radios have undergone an astonishing evolution in the last century. Born as a set of simple and
power-hungry electrical and electromechanical devices for low data rate transmission of telegraph data
in the Marconi age, they have transformed, thanks to substantial advances in electronic technology,
into a set of small, reliable and sophisticated integrated devices supporting broadband multimedia
communications. This, however, would not have been possible unless significant progress had been
made in recent decades in the field of signal processing algorithms for baseband and passband signals.
In fact, the core of any modern digital radio consists of a set of algorithms running over programmable
electronic hardware. This book stems from the research and teaching activities of its co-authors in
the field of algorithmic techniques for wireless communications. A huge body of technical literature
has accumulated in the last four decades in this area, and an extensive coverage of all its important
aspects in a single textbook is impossible. For this reason, we have selected a few important topics
and, for ease of reading, organized them into two parts.

本系統采用電動機電樞供電回路串接采樣電阻的方式來實現對小型直流有刷電動機的轉速測量。該系統主要由二階低通濾波電路,小信號放大電路、單片機測量顯示電路、開關穩壓電源電路等組成。同時自制電機測速裝置,用高頻磁環作為載體,用線圈繞制磁環,利用電磁感應原理檢測電機運行時的漏磁,將變化的磁場信號轉化為磁環上的感應電流。用信號處理單元電路將微弱電信號轉化為脈沖信號,送由單片機檢測,從而達到準確測量電機的速度的要求。In this system, the sampling resistance of armature power supply circuit is connected in series to measure the speed of small DC brush motor. The system is mainly composed of second-order low-pass filter circuit, small signal amplifier circuit, single-chip measurement and display circuit, switching regulated power supply circuit and so on. At the same time, the self-made motor speed measuring device uses high frequency magnetic ring as the carrier, coil winding magnetic ring, and electromagnetic induction principle to detect the leakage of magnetic field during the operation of the motor, which converts the changed magnetic field signal into the induced current on the magnetic ring. The weak electric signal is transformed into pulse signal by signal processing unit circuit, which is sent to single chip computer for detection, so as to meet the requirement of accurate measurement of motor speed.
