This paper studies the problem of categorical data clustering, especially for transactional data characterized by high dimensionality and large volume. Starting from a heuristic method of increasing the height-to-width ratio of the cluster histogram, we develop a novel algorithm – CLOPE, which is very fast and scalable, while being quite effective. OpenSS7 This the fourth public release of the OpenSS7 Master Package. See README in the release for a sub-package listing. Most of the sub-packages in the release are production grade for Linux Fast-STREAMS. All existing validation test suites run clean on supported distributions and architectures. It is unlikely that the OpenSS7 Master Package will be released as frequently as before. Sub-packages will be released more often. To rebuild the master package with a new sub-package release, simply replace the directory to which the sub-package belongs with the unpacked sub-package release and then rebuild the master package. This release provides support for recent distributions and tool chains.

The CUBA library provides new implementation of four general-purpose multidimensional integration algorithms: Vegas, Suave, Divonne, and Cuhre. Suave is a new algorithm, Divonne is a known algorithm to which important details have been added, and Vegas and Cuhre are new implementations of existing algorithms with only few improvements over the original versions. All four algorithms can integrate vector integrands and have very similar Fortran, C/C++, and Mathematica interfaces.

This paper presents an interactive technique that produces static hairstyles by generating individual hair strands of the desired shape and color, subject to the presence of gravity and collisions. A variety of hairstyles can be generated by adjusting the wisp parameters, while the deformation is solved efficiently, accounting for the effects of gravity and collisions. Wisps are generated employing statistical approaches. As for hair deformation, we propose a method which is based on physical simulation concepts but is simplified to efficiently solve the static shape of hair. On top of the statistical wisp model and the deformation solver, a constraint-based styler is proposed to model artificial features that oppose the natural flow of hair under gravity and hair elasticity, such as a hairpin. Our technique spans a wider range of human hairstyles than previously proposed methods, and the styles generated by this technique are fairly realistic.
