There are several problems related to the properties of
the triangular mesh representation that describes a
Surface of an object. Sometimes, the Surface is represented
just as a set of triangles without any other
information and the STL file format, which is used for
data exchanges, is a typicalexampl e of this situation.
Quality control of production has always been a necessity
in stainless steel mills. The users of stainless
steel set ever-increasing requirements on product
quality. Many material properties can still only be
measured in laboratory but more and more measurements
are now made on-line during the production.
Especially Surface defects have to be detected on-line
with a Surface inspection system because of their random
appearance.
parallel unified multipole algorithm for Electromagnetics (Puma-EM).
Aim is providing Surface Method of Moments for Electromagnetics, enhanced
by using the Multilevel Fast Multipole Method. Code is parallelized and runs on
Desktops and clusters.
An adaptive fuzzy integral sliding mode
controller for mismatched time-varying linear systems is
presented in this paper. The proposed fuzzy integral sliding
mode controller is designed to have zero steady state
system error under step inputs and alleviate the undesired
chattering around the sliding Surface
Description
The art galleries of the new and very futuristic building of the Center for Balkan Cooperation have the form of polygons (not necessarily convex). When a big exhibition is organized, watching over all of the pictures is a big security concern. Your task is that for a given gallery to write a program which finds the Surface of the area of the floor, from which each point on the walls of the gallery is visible. On the figure 1. a map of a gallery is given in some co-ordinate system. The area wanted is shaded on the figure 2.
We analyze, both analytically and numerically, the effectiveness
of cloaking an infinite cylinder from observations by electromagnetic
waves in three dimensions. We show that, as truncated approximations
of the ideal permittivity and permeability tensors tend towards
the singular ideal cloaking fields, so that the anisotropy ratio tends to
infinity, the D and B fields blow up near the cloaking Surface. Since
the metamaterials used to implement cloaking are based on effective
medium theory, the resulting large variation in D and B will pose a
challenge to the suitability of the field averaged characterization of "
and 碌. We also consider cloaking with and without the SHS (softand-
hard Surface) lining, shown in [6] to be theoretically necessary
for cloaking in the cylindrical geometry. We demonstrate numerically
that cloaking is significantly improved by the SHS lining, with both
the far field of the scattered wave significantly reduced and the blow
up of D and B prevented.
We obtained the energy transport velocity distribution for a three dimensional ideal cloak
explicitly. Near the operation frequency, the energy transport velocity has rather peculiar
distribution. The velocity along a line joining the origin of the cloak is a constant, while
the velocity approaches zero at the inner boundary of the cloak. A ray pointing right into
the origin of the cloak will experience abrupt changes of velocities when it impinges on the
inner Surface of the cloak. This peculiar distribution causes long time delays for beams
passing through the ideal cloak within a geometric optics description.
The Schumann resonance frequencies are a set of eigenmodes in the extremely low frequency (ELF) portion of the electromagnetic field spectrum. These frequencies are only present for planetary-like bodies with a substantial ionosphere acting as a perfect electric conductor, thus forming a resonance cavity with the Surface. In this example, the Schumann resonance frequencies for the Earth are calculated.
