Logger iButton devices have gained a lot of popularity with researchers. although free evaluation software is easy to use and welldocumented, the choices and inputs that need to be made can sometimes be challenging. This application note explains technicalterms that are common with temperature logger iButtons and how they relate to each other. Additionally, it presents an algorithm tohelp users choose the necessary input parameters, including the sample rate based on a user's needs and the available memory tostore the data.

This isn’t a Scribble tutorial (although I will review some fundamentals in the first chapter). You will learn how to wring every drop from your MFC programs. This work investigates the use of very deep pipelines for
implementing circuits in FPGAs, where each pipeline
stage is limited to a single FPGA logic element (LE). The
architecture and VHDL design of a parameterized integer
array multiplier is presented and also an IEEE 754
compliant 32-bit floating-point multiplier. We show how to
write VHDL cells that implement such approach, and how
the array multiplier architecture was adapted. Synthesis
and simulation were performed for Altera Apex20KE
devices, although the VHDL code should be portable to
other devices. For this family, a 16 bit integer multiplier
achieves a frequency of 266MHz, while the floating point
unit reaches 235MHz, performing 235 MFLOPS in an
FPGA. Additional cells are inserted to synchronize data,
what imposes significant area penalties. This and other
considerations to apply the technique in real designs are
also addressed.
PCI Hot-Plug Specification Revision 1.0
The primary objective of this specification is to enable higher availability of file and application servers by standardizing key aspects of the process of removing and installing PCI adapter cards while the system is running. although these same principles can be applied to desktop and portable systems using PCI buses, the operations described here target server platforms.
