Java has become a confusing world. Five years ago, there were few decisions to make once
you started programming in Java—you used AWT for graphical user inTERFACES, sockets for
network programming, and hacked together everything else you needed. Since then, though,
the APIs available for the Java language have grown, and grown. . . and grown. Now you can
dabble in Swing, servlets, Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB), JavaMail, and more. Additionally,
there are now packages of APIs, like the Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) and Java 2 Enterprise
Edition (J2EE). While these packages seem to be nicely wrapped bundles of useful APIs, they
don t help the average developer figure out how to piece together the APIs contained in these
packages. Though it s simple to find documentation on the individual APIs, getting the "big
picture" is difficult, at best. One of the most interesting, but difficult, aspects of Java today is
building Java enterprise applications using the J2EE package.

This project developed in java leads us to realize a flight reservation system in order to emulate databases containing the structures for the flight and for the booking. These bases extend the List interface and implements additional search鈥檚 methods.
Two inTERFACES provide an access to this system. The first one reads and handles reservation request message from a terminal. The arguments are then processed throw a middleware interface that call the flight system methods. The second one, a Graphical User inTERFACES (GUI) application using Swing Java Foundation Classes (JFC), offers a simpler access to the systems.

As I write this foreword, I am collaborating with four leading user interface
(UI) component vendors on a presentation for the 2004 JavaOneSM conference.
In our presentation, the vendors will show how they leverage JavaServerTM
Faces technology in their products. While developing the presentation, I am
learning some things about the work we’ve been doing on JavaServer Faces for
the past three years. The vendors have their own set of concerns unique to
adapting their product for JavaServer Faces, but they all voice one opinion
loud and clear: they are very relieved to finally have a standard for web-based
user inTERFACES.

During the past four years, most of our research activities have been focused on image but also video
and 3-D objects processing for security applications (watermarking and biometrics) and communications
(talking heads, inTERFACES), with a special emphasis on facial images. More about our work can be found

Our research activities are conducted with the backing of several industrials, in particular France
Telecom Research and STMicroelectronics.

wireless tools: used to manipulate
the Wireless Extensions. The Wireless Extensions is an interface allowing you to set Wireless LAN specific parameters and get the specific stats.
It also contains the IfRename package, used for advance renaming of network inTERFACES. We have cross compile to arm linux. and fixed some bug (eg:sometime the essid will be rename to a long name, or sometime it will disaply the essid twice)
