One of the key fac-ors in enhancing the robustness of dynamic scene analy-sis that of accurate and reliable means for shadow de-ection. Shadowdetectioniscriticalforcorrectobjectde-ection in image sequences. Many ALGORITHMS have beenproposed in the literature that deal with shadows. How-ever,acomparativeevaluationoftheexistingapproachesisstill lacking. In this paper, the full range of problems un-derlyingtheshadowdetectionareidenti?edanddiscussed.Weclassifytheproposedsolutionstothisproblemusingaaxonomyoffourmainclasses, calleddeterministicmodeland non-model based and statistical parametric and non-parametric. Novelquantitative(detectionanddiscrimina-ionaccuracy)andqualitativemetrics(sceneandobjectin-dependence,?exibilitytoshadowsituationsandrobustnesso noise) are proposed to evaluate these classes of algo-rithms on a benchmark suite of indoor and outdoor videosequences.

The goal of this library is to make ODBC recordsets look just like an STL container. As a user, you can move through our containers using standard STL iterators and if you insert(), erase() or replace() records in our containers changes can be automatically committed to the database for you. The library s compliance with the STL iterator and container standards means you can plug our abstractions into a wide variety of STL ALGORITHMS for data storage, searching and manipulation. In addition, the C++ reflection mechanism used by our library to bind to database tables allows us to add generic indexing and lookup properties to our containers with no special code required from the end-user. Because our code takes full advantage of the template mechanism, it adds minimal overhead compared with using raw ODBC calls to access a database.

penMesh is a generic and efficient data structure for representing and manipulating polygonal meshes. OpenMesh is developed at the Computer Graphics Group, RWTH Aachen , as part of the OpenSGPlus project, is funded by the German Ministry for Research and Education ( BMBF), and will serve as geometry kernel upon which the so-called high level primitives (e.g. subdivision surfaces or progressive meshes) of OpenSGPlus are built. The CUBA library provides new implementation of four general-purpose multidimensional integration ALGORITHMS: Vegas, Suave, Divonne, and Cuhre. Suave is a new algorithm, Divonne is a known algorithm to which important details have been added, and Vegas and Cuhre are new implementations of existing ALGORITHMS with only few improvements over the original versions. All four ALGORITHMS can integrate vector integrands and have very similar Fortran, C/C++, and Mathematica interfaces.

This paper introduces an affine invariant of trapezia, and the explicit constraint equation between the intrinsic matrix of a camera and the similarity invariants of a trapezium are established using the affine invariant. By this constraint, the inner parameters, motion parameters of the cameras and the similarity invariants of trapezia can be linearly determined using some prior knowledge on the cameras or the trapezia. The proposed ALGORITHMS have wide applicability since parallel lines are not rare in many scenes. Experimental results validate the proposed approaches. This work presents a unifying framework based on the parallelism constraint, and the previous methods based on the parallelograms or the parallelepipeds can be integrated into this framework.
