Abstract: This application note discusses a design for a phantom antenna power-supply system compatible with theDigital Satellite Equipment Control (DiSEqC) communication standard, using the MAX16948 automotive dual, highvoltageLDO/switch. The presented application circuit provides a remote antenna power supply and also enables onewaycommunication from the radio head unit to the remote antenna. This system architecture offers flexibility inDiSEqC tone-burst frequency choice (100Hz to 30kHz), enabling users the ability to select the best frequency for theirapplication.

dvbsnoop is a DVB/MPEG stream analyzer program.
The program can be used to sniff, monitor, debug, dump
or view DVB/MPEG/DSM-CC/MHP stream information (digital
television or data broadcasts) sent via satellite, cable
or terrestrial.
This m-file simulates MPSK (theoretical and simulated) with Gray coding
This m-file simulates MPSK (BPSK,QPSK,8PSK)with theoretical and simulated results using Gray coding. Numerical examples of a satellite link design are shown using QPSK and/or 8PSK when the bit rate(Rb)is greater than the channel bandwidth Wc (Band-limited channel).
This submission includes the presentation and model files that were used in delivering a webinar on 12-15-05 that covered the topic of modeling Hybrid Electric Vehicles.
Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) have proven they can substantially improve fuel economy and reduce emissions. Because HEVs combine an electric drive with the internal combustion engine (ICE) in the powertrain, the vehicle?s kinetic energy can be captured during braking and transformed into electrical energy in the battery. The dual power source also means that the ICE can be reduced in size and can operate at its most efficient speeds.
This paper investigates the design of joint frequency
offset and carrier phase estimation of a multi-frequency time division
multiple access (MF-TDMA) demodulator that is applied to
a digital video broadcasting—return channel system via satellite
(DVB-RCS). The proposed joint estimation algorithm is based on
the interpolation technique for two correlation values in the frequency
and phase domains. This simple interpolation technique
can significantly improve frequency and phase resolution capabilities
of the proposed technique without increasing the number of
the correlation values. In addition, the overall block diagram of a
digital communications receiver for DVB-RCS is presented, which
was designed using the proposed estimation algorithms.

There are numerous MATLAB m-files included in this software package. Thus, the the authors have bundled all files and sample data in a *.zip file (KTHorb.zip). The Readme.txt file describes the directories created when the .zip file is unpacked. The file Matlab_implementation.doc (or Matlab_implementation.txt) describes some of the classes and methods included in the package for GPS satellite orbit interpolation.
