Three-dimensional real-time graphics are a prevalent technology nowadays, thanks
to the steady rise of processing power and specialized graphics hardware. One of the
goals of computer graphics most sought after and difficult to achieve is to reproduce realistic outdoor environments featuring dense forests.

Digital Thermostat
We build a digital thermostat for home applications, which controls the room temperature. I
used the AT90S2313 microprocessor of ATMEL. The digital thermostat opens the main heating valve of
the apartment and the hot water flows in the radiators.

RTX-51 is a runtime library that, together with C51, allows real-time systems to
be implemented for all processors of the 8051 family (e.g., 8051, 8052, 80515,
etc.), except for the 8?C751 and 8?C752.
RTX-251 extends the functionality of the RTX-51 to the new intel MCSÒ 251
family of processors. It is available as a set of runtime libraries supporting the
binary and the source mode to be used with the C251.
In 1960, R.E. Kalman published his famous paper describing a recursive solution
to the discrete-data linear filtering problem. Since that time, due in large part to advances
in digital computing, the Kalman filter has been the subject of extensive research
and application, particularly in the area of autonomous or assisted
navigation.

has been the subject of extensive research and application,
particularly in the area of autonomous or assisted navigation. A very “friendly” introduction to the
general idea of the Kalman filter can be found in Chapter 1 of [Maybeck79], while a more complete
introductory discussion can be found in [Sorenson70], which also contains some interesting
historical narrative.
