Parallel robotic manipulators can be considered a well-established option
for many different applications of manipulation, machining, guiding,
testing, control, tracking, haptic force feed-back, etc. A typical parallel robotic
manipulator (PM) consists of a mobile platform connected to the
base (fixed platform) by at least two kinematic chains called limbs. The
mobile platform can achieve between one and three independent translations
(T) and one to three independent rotations (R).

Commercially available active noise control headphones rely on fixed analog controllers to drive "anti-noise" loudspeakers. Our design uses an adaptive controller to optimally cancel unwanted acoustic noise. This headphone would be particularly useful for workers who operate or work near heavy machinery and engines because the noise is selectively eliminated. Desired sounds, such as speech and warning signals, are left to be heard clearly. The adaptive control algorithm is implemented on a Texas Instruments (TI™ )
1
TMS320C30GEL digital signal processor (DSP), which drives a Sony CD550 headphone/microphone system. Our experiments indicate that adaptive noise control results in a dramatic improvement in performance over fixed noise control. This improvement is due to the availability of high-performance programmable DSPs and the self-optimizing and tracking
capabilities of the adaptive controller in response to the surrounding noise.

Improved guaranteed cost control and quantum adaptive control are developed in this study for a quadrotor helicopter with state
delay and actuator faults. Improved guaranteed cost control is designed to eliminate disturbance effects and guarantee the robust stability of a
quadrotor helicopter with state delay. The inapplicability of guaranteed cost control to the quadrotor linear model is addressed by combining
guaranteed cost control with a model reference linear quadratic regulator. In the event of actuator faults, quadrotor tracking performance is
maintained through quantum adaptive control. Finally, the availability of the proposed scheme is verified through numerical simulation

In modern societies, the production and trade of goods all around the world is
constantly increasing. The latest technological achievements allow the
mass-production of millions of items of every kind, which are being exchanged all
around the globe with unprecedented rapidity. At the same time, the problem of
identifying, classifying and tracking such a growing multitude of objects is con-
sequently arising.

Introduction to Radio Frequency Identification (RFID): RFID is a
wireless modulation and demodulation technique for automatic
identification of objects, tracking goods, smart logistics, and access con-
trol. RFID is a contactless, usually short‐distance transmission and
reception technique for unique ID data transfer from a tagged object to
an interrogator (reader). The generic configuration of an RFID system
comprises (i) an ID data‐carrying tag, (ii) a reader, (iii) a middleware,
and (iv) an enterprise application.

Identification is pervasive nowadays in daily life due to many complicated activities such as
bank and library card reading, asset tracking, toll collecting, restricted access to sensitive data
and procedures and target identification. This kind of task can be realized by passwords, bio-
metric data such as fingerprints, barcode, optical character recognition, smart cards and radar.

It is a contactless, usually short distance, wireless data transmission and reception technique
for identification of objects. An RFID system consists of two components: the tag (also called
transponder) and the reader (also called interrogator).

Radio frequency identifi cation (RFID) is a modern wireless data transmission and
reception technique for applications including automatic identifi cation, asset track-
ing and security surveillance. As barcodes and other means of identifi cation and
asset tracking are inadequate for recent demands, RFID technology has attracted
interest for applications such as logistics, supply chain management, asset tracking
and security access control.

Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is witnessing a recent explosion of
development in both industry and academia. A number of applications include supply
chain management, electronic payments, RFID passports, environmental monitoring
and control, office access control, intelligent labels, target detection and tracking, port
management, food production control, animal identification, and so on. RFID is also
an indispensable foundation to realize the pervasive computing paradigm—“Internet of
things.” It is strongly believed that many more scenarios will be identified when the
principles of RFID are thoroughly understood, cheap components available, and when
RFID security is guaranteed.

Radio frequency identifi cation (RFID) technology is a wireless communication
technology that enables users to uniquely identify tagged objects or people.
RFID is rapidly becoming a cost-effective technology. This is in large part
due to the efforts of Wal-Mart and the Department of Defense (DoD) to
incorporate RFID technology into their supply chains. In 2003, with the aim
of enabling pallet-level tracking of inventory, Wal-Mart issued an RFID
mandate requiring its top suppliers to begin tagging pallets and cases, with
Electronic Product Code (EPC) labels. The DoD quickly followed suit and
issued the same mandate to its top 100 suppliers. This drive to incorporate
RFID technology into their supply chains is motivated by the increased ship-
ping, receiving and stocking effi ciency and the decreased costs of labor, storage,
and product loss that pallet-level visibility of inventory can offer.
