  • R-SLAM--Resilient localization and mapping

    Accurate pose estimation plays an important role in solution of simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) problem, required for many robotic applications. This paper presents a new approach called R-SLAM, primarily to overcome systematic and non-systematic odometry errors which are generally caused by uneven floors, unexpected objects on the floor or wheel-slippage due to skidding or fast turns.The hybrid approach presented here combines the strengths of feature based and grid based methods to produce globally consistent high resolution maps within various types of environments.

  • Hybrid+Analog-Digital+Precoding

    In this paper we revisit hybrid analog-digital precoding systems with emphasis on their modelling and radio-frequency (RF) losses, to realistically evaluate their benefits in 5G system implementations. For this, we decompose the analog beamforming networks (ABFN) as a bank of commonly used RF components and formulate realistic model constraints based on their S-parameters. Specifically, we concentrate on fully-connected ABFN (FC-ABFN) and Butler networks for implementing the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) in the RF domain. The results presented in this paper reveal that the performance and energy efficiency of hybrid precoding systems are severely affected, once practical factors are considered in the overall design. In this context, we also show that Butler RF networks are capable of providing better performances than FC-ABFN for systems with a large number of RF chains.

  • Mobile Broadband Multimedia Networks Techniques

    This books presents the research work of COST 273 Towards Mobile Broadband Multimedia Networks, hence, it reports on the work performed and on the results achieved within the project by its participants. The material presented here corresponds to the results obtained in four years of collaborative work by more than 350 researchers from 137 institutions (universities, operators, manufacturers, regulators, independent laboratories and others – a full list is provided in Appendix B) belonging to 29 countries (mainly European, but also from Asia and North America) in the area of mobileradio. Theobjectiveofpublishingtheseresultsasabookisessentiallytomakethemavailable to an audience wider than the project. In fact, it just follows a ‘tradition’ of previous COST Actions in this area of telecommunications, i.e. COST 207, 231 and 259.

  • OFDM+Wireless+LANS

    Before delving into the details of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), relevant background material must be presented first. The purpose of this chapter is to provide the necessary building blocks for the development of OFDM principles. Included in this chapter are reviews of stochastic and random process, discrete-time signals and systems, and the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). Tooled with the necessary mathematical foundation, we proceed with an overview of digital communication systems and OFDM communication systems. We conclude the chapter with summaries of the OFDM wireless LAN standards currently in existence and a high-level comparison of single carrier systems versus OFDM.

    In this book we focus on the basic signal processing that underlies current and future ultra wideband systems. By looking at signal processing in this way we hope this text will be useful even as UWB applications mature and change or regulations regarding ultra wideband systems are modified. The current UWB field is extremely dynamic, with new techniques and ideas being presented at every communications and signal-processing conference. The basic signal-processing techniques presented in this text though will not change for some time to come. Thus, we have taken a somewhat theoretical approach, which we believe is longer lasting and more useful to the reader in the long term than an up-to-the-minute summary that is out of date as soon as it is published.

    設(shè)計(jì)了自動(dòng)控制系統(tǒng)綜合實(shí)驗(yàn)案例“基于LabVIEW和單片機(jī)的溫度控制系統(tǒng)設(shè)計(jì)”。實(shí)驗(yàn)系統(tǒng)硬件部分由單片機(jī)、溫度傳感器、D/A轉(zhuǎn)換模塊、調(diào)壓模塊和電烤箱組成,設(shè)計(jì)了單片機(jī)與各個(gè)模塊之間的接口電路。軟件部分采用LabVIEW軟件實(shí)現(xiàn)控制算法,并設(shè)計(jì)監(jiān)控界面實(shí)現(xiàn)參數(shù)設(shè)定、溫度數(shù)據(jù)實(shí)時(shí)監(jiān)控等功能。設(shè)計(jì)了單片機(jī)與LabVIEW軟件之間的串口通信程序,實(shí)現(xiàn)了輸入、輸出數(shù)據(jù)的傳輸。通過(guò)綜合實(shí)驗(yàn)系統(tǒng)設(shè)計(jì),使學(xué)生得到控制系統(tǒng)設(shè)計(jì)和實(shí)驗(yàn)調(diào)試等綜合能力的訓(xùn)練。A comprehensive experimental case of the automatic control system is presented,which is the design of the temperature control system based on LabVIEW and SCM.The hardware part of the experimental system is composed of the SCM,temperature sensor,D/A conversion module,voltage regulating module and electric oven.The interface circuit between the SCM and each module is designed.In the software part,LabVIEW software is used to realize the control algorithm,and the monitoring interface is designed to realize the functions of parameter setting,temperature data real-time monitoring,etc.The serial communication program between the SCM and LabVIEW software is designed to realize the transmission of input and output data.Through the design of this comprehensive experimental system,students can get the comprehensive ability training for the control system design,experiment debugging,etc.
